My battery pump (Osbon Esteme) has ceased to create a vacuum in the cylinder. I suspect the release valve to be the problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Any one have experience with disassembly of this unit?

I had the manual version of Esteme pumps. The first one wasn't working for me at home, even if the rep at doctors office would use it on me and would work. But home it was not enough suction for use. Then I got it exchanged and the next one worked great in doctors office and at home. But, the bands on base of penis hurt so much I didn't enjoy the sex. used it daily for 14 days before having sex........after 90 days gave us. Found out from doctor's pa that most men stop using it after 6 months and never go back. The nurse said my size had a lot to do with the pain and pumping. So tried the shots for several months, somewhat effective but gave up. Got the implant and its been 8 weeks and surgery was easy, pain for 3-4 days and it works great in the bedroom now....wish I had done it years ago.

Doug,
I had a problem early on with a Encore battery pump -- similar design. Stopped sucking so good. I ran some rubbing alcohol straight thru the pump (just sucking it in) and afterwards (4 years later) is still working fine. Never had a problem again. I think some astroglide might have gotten inside the little rubber bladder they use to cause the pumping action.
I did take the cover off the pump when I was inspecting it to see what might be going wrong. That might not be needed .. and less complex operation if you just put a drop or two of alcohol in and let it disperse wherever it wishes.

Thanks guys. I will try the alcohol. Not sure about doing an implant yet. I tried one shot of Caverject and worked great, but felt a bit expensive for personal recreation. May get a prescription for tri or bimix later on and try it. Again, Thanks for the input
