I just started to use my Encore medical pump its battery or manual. I'm not sure how far to pump I have tried it several times I have a great seal and it pumps fast but not sure when to stop. I turn it on and off a few times and I feel pulling so I stop. How much can I go or what should I be feeling? I had robotic prostate surgery 6 weeks ago and I can now use my pump but I don't want to over do it.
I did pump and release a few times and Ill hold for 30 sec.
Can someone chim I'm on if I'm doing it correct and how much pull should I feel.
thanks in advance

I suggest jumping up to where your length is approximately the same as it was (when erect) before the surgery.
When I first started pumping, I was a little too liberal with the vacuum (sorry, no gauge, so no objective measure), and wound up with a bit of swelling (edema, or "the donut effect"). It went away after a couple days of not pumping.
The protocol of pumping post-prostatectomy in order to retain elasticity and oxygenation is pretty well proven to be beneficial, so do keep it "up".
Good luck.

When I pumped up I was short 1 in of where I was at before surgery, I did here somewhere you loose length after surgery and hoping to regain what I lost. I did notice my girth at the base was filling the tube so wondering if that was causing the vacuum not to pull more length. I do have a foam sleave coming today maybe that will hold the girth back so the pump can pull my penis out further.
Anyone else have that problem?
Thanks all

I also suggest doing a search on the term "edema" as found in this forum. It should yield 16 or so links to posts in threads you will find to be valuable reading.
Not that edema is germane to your question, but these threads are.

It would be helpful if you advised whether you are pumping for rehabilitation or to attain and maintain an erection.
For rehabilitation, you can hold and release at almost any vacuum level but as mentioned above best to the point where you feel a full pull, but no pain
For generating an erection, you might want to reach the point where pain begins. Normally, you do not have to pump for very long. I can reach maximum erection in about a minute or so. Accordingly, even excessive vacuum will not generate any significant edema.

I'm pumping for rehab now but want to pump for full erection down the road. I wasn't sure where to stop when I'm ready for a full pull. I am doing several pump and release like many post talk about and that works great. I just find that pumping for less then a min I could reach max erection. I have read many post of guys pumping for 5 min if I did that I would turn inside out. The Encore pump really works well either manual or battery and has a great seal with and without the foam sleeve. I do notice using the sleeve keeps the girth down at the base and allows the penis to pull straight and not get chubed up at the base. Not sure when I'm ready for sex if I want the sleeve the visual takes away from it all hope my wife doesn't mind or take away for her.
My goal is to pump for a few weeks to get used to it and even try a constriction band before I try it out on my wife. Would be nice to see just what I need to do to hold an erection, as many state picking the right band can take time. I want to have the right band or bands ready so when I do give it a go I will know what to do.
Any other help would be great as I have learned lots on this site.
Has anyone that had robotic assisted prostate removed loose length? I feel like I have especially flaccid but I do see how pumping has pulled and kept the turtle out longer. Before surgery I was around 3.5" and after I was at 1" after one week of pumping I might be around 2" things are looking up.

Hello and welcome
You are in the right place, I too thought I lost a little length after robotic assisted prostate removal and also started using my pump right after my surgery . For me and after reading some blogs in Franks found that it takes time ( had my surgery Oct 2015) and think I am back to where i was before surgery. Just pump a couple of days and take a break. It will get better have faith

40buickcoupe, to comment to one of your questions, I lost 1-1/2 inches in length and about 1 inch in girth.
