Should I try the Pump?

First post. I am a type2 for about 12 yrs, on several different meds. With a new lady friend and we have become intimate. My issue is this. I still get an erection with her but it is not like when I was younger and pre 2009 before one med.( I know it changes with age) I have lost some length and girth and while she does not complain, I feel bad because I know what it was before. Does anyone think a pump would help? I get hard with her just not like I did before one medicine that was introduced in 2009 (at least I think that is the one). Think a pump would work in this case not trying to use the popular pills just want to be as natural as possible.
Thanks,
49 yrs old
Type 2 since 2005
Good erections until 2009
Divorced

Welcome to the forum, Stonewall68.
I have used a vacuum erection device for some months now solely to recover and maintain size and elasticity.
The two times we tried using a vacuum-induced erection (maintained with a constriction ring) it was about the most unnatural way to have sex we could imagine. Oral meds (when they still worked) were far more natural-like.
See my thread (use the search function to find it) "First coitus with V.E.D."
Regards,

There are a ton of threads on this site both pro and con.
I use a pump for sex and have for years. For us the positive aspects far
outweigh the negative.
If you do decide to try one, my advice is to practice with it by yourself for at
least a couple of months before using it for sex.
ED pills work well for a lot of men and can be much more "natural" than a pump.

I can't think of any reason not to try a pump. However, you should try just using some of the better novelty rings first. In your case you might just be surprised with the results. Most aren't expensive so you can try a variety until you find some that work for you. My dick is in way worse shape than yours, being post RP, but in conjunction with an injection a ring placed behind the boys perks me up nicely. After the initial WTF, Wife decided she also likes the way the ring packages the package.

stonewall68,
Yes ... absolutely you should be using a VED. If your Insurance will pay try one of these:

This looks interesting. Never tried it but for $50 I may. A man can never have too many penis pumps!

If you are interested in applying a constriction ring from the pump cylinder, as the medical devices are designed to do, you need to determine if the novelty pump is designed for that purpose or is at least adaptable for that purpose. Many if not most novelty pumps have a raised lip on the mouth of the cylinder that makes rolling a ring off very difficult. Not all have that issue but be aware that many do. If you aren't interested in applying a ring from the cylinder then it's not an issue.

I am a T2 for 25 years. My ED started to develope after about ten years. Apparently high blood glucose builds up plaque on the walls of your arteries which reduces blood flow. In addition elevated blood glucose also causes perepheral neuropathy which reduces the sensitivity of your nerve endings, including in your penis. In addition, elevated blood glucose causes autonomic neuropathy which effects bodily functions such as your sexual function.
Your priority should be to maintain good control of your glucose levels.
I have used a VED, pills, constriction bands, and injections. Unfortunately, my ED has progressed to the point where only the VED in combination with an Osbon tension band is the only viable means, baring an implant, I have available to generate and maintain an erection. If they all worked equally in generating a good erection, my preference would be Viagra followed by injections. I find pumping intrusive to love making and the tension band reduces sensitivity after ten minutes.

I've been using a Pos-T-Vac VED since I was 30 years old (now in my early 40s). At the time, my girlfriend (now wife) was only 25 years old. Initially, I would run to the bathroom to do it and come back with an erection. Eventually, she said just do it here and we incorporate it into foreplay. The point is I think a lot of people don't think it can work when it absolutely can.
When I started the VED, I could only sometimes get a weak erection with meds to have sex. It typically only worked with a willing partner who would stimulate it and stuff it in. In other words, I really had no other choice but get an implant (not an option for a younger person who wants to avoid multiple surgeries over his life) or use a VED.
When I was in my early 20s, a Pos-T-Vac sales rep used the device to create an erection on me at my urologist's office (a weird experience to say the least). However, that ultimately led me to stick with the couple of month trial and error period I had since I knew it would eventually work.
I'm a big fan of the VED as it gave me back a sex life. Still can't do all positions due to the hinge effect, but still a huge improvement.
