Managing 10cc medicine vial
Managing 10cc medicine vial
I just received a 10cc vial of trimix. My dosage is about 6 units. So, my vial is good for 166 doses. How do I manage that vial from a refrigeration point of view? Can I divide it by preloading syringes and freezing the vial after? Can I somehow divide into multiple vials and freezing all but one? Can I thaw and refreeze 150 times? It only lasts 90 days in fridge, so what is best strategy? Also BUD date in my newly received vial is next month, is that a worry too?

Re: Managing 10cc medicine vial
My strategy over a period of several years:
Keep the 10 ml vial in the freezer. Thaw it out once a week and fill as many syringes as you expect to use in the coming week.
Put the vial back in the freezer. Keep the syringes in the refrigerator. They'll be fine.
This approach has the advantage of making a filled syringe readily available when the moment arrives, as opposed to taking the time to thaw the vial.
