Possible to use Alprostadil (PGE1) hours after mixing ?

Postby mr.skin » Mon Jan 27, 2020 7:46 am

Hello to all,

Unfortunately where I live right now the auto injector is not available, so I have to mix the solution myself and it is officially said to be used right afterwards.

I am going on a date and like to prepare it, is this possible ?

I'm not a medical professional of any kind. Anything I post is based on my own experiences, at best and hallucinations or delusions at worst. Any advice found on an internet forum is likely worth what you paid for it, or worse. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

Yeah, you should easily be good for several hours. I'd suggest one of those insulin cool pouches. With one of those I'm guessing 6 hours or more would be OK. I've kept mine in a cool pack and or ice for several days. It's not the best way to keep reconstituted alprostadil and it may lose a little potency but it works.

I would think it also depends on the liquid in which it's reconstituted. If it's in a bacteriostatic water I'd feel better about carrying it unchilled in my pocket for a few hours. I get mine in saline although I'd prefer bacteriostatic water but I don't want to rock the boat as I'm still training my primary (GP) who I have writing my script.
