I was originally prescribed Caverject (Alprostadil) but had to move onto Invicorp because of the severe aching.
I posted here once before trying to find out what causes this .
I know it can affect up to 20% of men to a greater or lesser degree.
Anybody out there with some knowledge?
What causes Alprostadil ache (burn)?

Re: What causes Alprostadil ache (burn)?
I am hearing those with an RP have the pain more than not. Some attribute it to the total absence of any erection, nocturnal or otherwise because of nerves gone.
It makes sense… that night time “piss hard” erection we all experience is nothing more than the body running through a systems check about an hour or so before waking. No nerves, no system maintain, atrophy, pain if that changes by pump or inject.
When we do get cavernosa to inflate with a pump or injection, there will be pain because of nonuse.
To the chase… my Uro and Rx spec suggest that if I can withstand the pain, keep raising the bar 5u at a time until at about 35 or so, the line should then be crossed to the erection and the pain will be minimal because of that line cross. Has anyone else had this scenario?

My robotic nerve sparing prostatectomy was performed by the head of urology at Indiana University Hospital, on a follow up appointment he told me that he does not prescribe Trimix to prostatectomy patients because of the pain. Another urologist prescribed me 10-30-1 Trimix and I started at 50 units and backed down to 15 units with still having pain. Present prescription of 3-30-5 takes about 45 units for good result with minimal pain. I had to use 90 units of Bimix for same result.
