How long should the erection last after an injection?

My erections last between 4 and 5 hours, which is very inconvenient and on the border of dangerous. I often have to pack the old boy in ice and lie down for a few hours after sex to cause the erection to go down. I have been to the emergency room three times to get the erection gone. Talk about embarrassing, even though the doctors say they see a lot of this problem. I have tired cutting the volume back, and if I used to little there is no erection. It seems it is either 4+ hours or 0 hours. This is getting to be frustration and is making me reluctant o to have sex when it is a 4-5 hour experience and possibly a trip to the hospital. So far my uro has not come up with a solution. Anybody have any suggestions? I used PPV, what the uro prescribed.

The first suggestion would be to lower the dose. But you say if you do that, you get zero results. That doesn't jive with my experience. What exactly is your dose? Surely you could lower it 1 unit at a time until you find the right amount that gives you what you want for the length of time you want--and no more.

The second suggestion would be to change the ratio of ingredients in your trimix. Your uro should be able to modify your prescription until you find the right mix.

The third suggestion is to get a new urologist. A urologist who doesn't have any suggestions on how to correct what you've described is NOT someone I would want treating my most important body part.

My erection usually last about 2 hours injecting 10 units. Because Im still hard after I ejaculate, my wife and I sometimes have a "round 2" or she does me a second time orally. I found that by ejaculatibng a second time I go down faster.

Also if after 2 hours or so Im still hard I take 4 30mgs Sudafed regular

When I started Trimix, I worked up to 45 units before I achieved a long lasting erection, mayby 3 hours even after ejaculating. I subsequently worked my way down to 18 units which now provides a 1.5 hour erection which subsides fairly quickly after orgasm.

I'm struggling with the same issue right now - trying to get the right dose so that I don't have a 3+ hour erection. I was at the 70 range and have been decreasing the dose by 10 each time. At 50, I still had a 3 hour erection - went to 40 yesterday and I struggled to get an erection. I'm going to try 45 this week, but I'm not optimistic that there will be much difference from 50. One of the earlier posts suggested taking 4 30 mg Sudafed's afterwards, which I'm going to try - wondering how quickly that helps.

I will also follow-up with my doctor - maybe he can modify my injection mixture. I was just wondering if anyone had some tips or suggestions to soften the erection afterwards. It definitely gets a little embarrassing when you're rock hard for 2-3 hours - can't leave the apartment for 3 hours, which can be a real problem when your date wants to go out for dinner or drinks afterwards. I think she's also wondering what's going on with my 3 hour erections - trying to avoid discussing the injections with her.

The Sudafed helps in 15 mins. Why not try having sex a second time since you stay hard. Both of you may enjoy that and maybe that will hhelp bring you down. I found that some women enjoy sex better a scond time right after

I use VED and other times I use Edex injections. I also found it difficult to avoid an aching 4-5 hour boner after using Edex. With experimentation I can generally reduce the does to get a boner that lasts 2-3 hours. This is good and my GF and I make good use of that time. )

But for unexplained reasons I will use the same smaller dose and get a longer lasting boner. Recently I used half a dose and felt I had the perfect boner (very hard and erect, without painful feeling), but later the darn thing would not soften until about 5 hours. I used two Sudifed that genrally brings it down, but on this night it only seemed to get worse. I actually thought I may have taken an atihistimine by mistake. Anyway, my point is the same dose for me does not always produce the same result of erection strength or duration. This can be frustrating. That is why I find myself using the VED to inflate my penis and don't have to worry about a frustraing and frequently painful, 5-hour ordeal when using Edex.

I jokingly refer to my penis after using the VED as "Puff the Magic Dragon";that is I use a vacuum device to puff my penis and magically get a dragon of a boner.

2.5mcg of caverject(edex) gives me about an hour and a half. you need to lower your dose its all i can say see another doctor maybe , when injecting your goal is to achieve an erection between 60% and 70% wich is good enough for penetration you dont want a rock hard penis it can be very painfull,with stimulation you may achieve the remaining 30% of your erection.hope that helps a little and good luck
