Probably injured after caverject priapism

I used caverject and in 3 ocasions I experimented a priapism effect of over 10 hours. Since that I tried caverject for 5 ocasions, and it didn´t work any more. i am much concerned that i have injured my penis, as i read that priapism can cause Ed for ever. Can anyone tell me if I got injured, it is possible a recovery, or if it is a permanent condition. The Dr i went told me to take 5 mg of Cialis to oxygen the probably damaged cells. Can anyone tell me if passed for something like this?

I noticed you never mentioned a ER visit(s) for your Priapism episodes ... and this doctor you saw, was this a Urologist?

When priapism occurs the blood is unable to drain as it would normally. When the blood fails to circulate, it becomes stagnant and begins to lose oxygen. Without oxygen, red blood cells become stiff and thicken, making proper penis drainage even more problematic. The result: Penile fibrosis, the formation of scar tissue in the main body of the penis. This often means permanent Erectile Dysfunction.

I had three ER visits myself with manual draining ... so I know how you feel ... I would recommend seeing a URO and explain the details, the dosages used ... don't hold back. Tell him everything! ... you are certainly not the first this has happened to. I was using Cialis too at the time with Trimix and was told to discontinue the Cialis for at least a week, so as not to cause another bout of Priapism. After my third visit to the ER, I was told to discontinue the Injections too ...

Wow, you surely should be the Poster Boy for the "Make Sure Your First Shot Is Done at A Reputable Urologist's Office". Sorry to hear that willie has given up - hopefully not for good, but 3 x 10 hours of priapism is pretty serious and damaging. And no trip to ER I guess? How long ago were those episodes?

Sounds like you did not get very good advice from your Doc. Maybe time to get see about getting a Pain and Suffering malpractice $$$$ judgement for the loss of your remaining lifetime of no conjugal bliss??

How much were you injecting? It is very unusual to get a 10hr erection with PGE1 alone.

Thank you for yor answers. It happenned three weeks ago. Now using Cialis I get a poor erection.
Do you know if this can heal after some time? Or do you think i got injured for ever?

Not to sound rude ... but this is a place to exchange ideas ... So it's very difficult to provide advise, when several of us have asked questions in reply, but you failed to provide any answers. It's best you see a Urologist.

Sorry, I´ didn´t understand very well, because English is not my language, and I apreciate very much your experiences and I´m very gratefull to the members. I went to the urologist and made a superficiall exame, also he injected me and made an ultrasound. He told me that everythimg was allright, but as I told before, after priapism I get a poor erection, and caverject doesn´t work.
When I used it first time I used 0,7 ml and had priapsim, also reducing to 0,5 and then to 0,3 ml.
I went to other urologist and he examined me too and also told me that everything seemed to be alright, but there was not any kind of other exam.
Using 40 mg of Cialis I get also a poor erection too.
So I will like to ask if someone have gone trough something like this, and if you know if there is any kind of treatment, or it is possible a recovery after some time.

I forgot to tell, that my doctor gave me to take E vitamin and 5 mg of Cialis every day, so as to oxygen the internal cells too

Since your doctor has checked and found nothing wrong; I would suggest be patient and give yourself some time. Don't think about it for a few weeks and try again.

You never did say what caused the need for your shots instead of Cialis?? Surgery? HBP/Cardiac issues?? Diabetes? But if Cialis 40mg ( is that really two full dose you took?) had some effect then that is a really good sign. Maybe healing is taking place already. How old are you? Younger means quicker healing usually.

If you have a VED pump you should also be using it daily for rehab .. just pump up and hold for a few minutes and then release and repeat for 20 or 30 minutes a day. Every little bit helps.
