Read my story, has anyone had a similar experience

Postby libra231 » Wed Aug 14, 2013 1:27 pm

I'm totally frustrated and would like to tell my story, any suggestions would be welcome. You guys are great...
In 2005 I had Robotic Surgery to remove my prostate due to cancer, what a journey it's been. I recovered well from the surgery but as usual, left impotent. Several months ago I discussed my erection problem with my urologist. He recommended Tri-mix and gave me an injection right then. The injection only produced a semi erection but the uro said it would be alright and gave me a Rx for Tri-Mix 30/1/20, so off I went to the compounding pharmacy.
With the Rx in hand I went home and gave myself the first injection. I injected 25 units and received poor results.
The next day I injected 40 units, still poor results
A couple of days later I injected 60 units still poor results
A few days later I injected the entire syringe 100 units, this time I received a semi erection only, not firm enough for penetration

I phoned the urologist and told him that it was not working. He increased my formula of Tri-Mix to 30/2/20 and called the Rx in for me to the pharmacy.
I picked up the new Rx and went home to do the injection. I injected 40 units of the new Rx slight semi only
A couple of days later I injected 60 units, slight semi only
A couple of days later I injected 90 units same slight semi, not enough for penetration
A few days later, I said what the hell and injected 100 units the entire syringe, only to be disappointed with the same semi
Spoke with the uro again informing him that the Tri-Mix was not working. Once again the uro increased the formula, this time to 30/2/40 and called it into the pharmacy.
I picked up the new Rx of 30/2/40 went home and injected 20 units, still only semi, I continued to increase the injection until I reached 100 units. Still only semi, and not firm enough for penetration.

Now I'm totally frustrated with the cost and results of each formula. The only thing I got was a useless semi and aching penis.

I went to the urologist office and he called the pharmacy by phone in my presence. The call was on speaker and the pharmacist was advised of the issue. At this point the pharmacist recommended yep, another change in formula. This time ATROPINE was either added or increased in the 30/2/40 formula. The pharmacist said that it's ATROPINE that makes the penis firmer and should do the trick. So here we go again.
I got the new Rx with the ATROPINE and the next day I injected 20 units on the left side of my little fellow. Waited about 45 minutes with no results. Then I said what the hell and did a second injection of 20 units on the right side. Again only met with disappointment
and aching penis. Needless to say I'm totally frustrated and was wondering if any of you guys had the same or similar experience. I know that the Tri-Mix has helped a lot of guys, but unfortunately not for me. Any advise would be greatly appreciated, you guys are great..

Has your URO checked you for venous leak? ... Injections work for about 80% of guys. If you do have a venous leak, you can try using VED with a ring prior to Injecting. This (ring) may help retain the Trimix until it has had a chance to work.

Do NOT keep saying to yourself "what the hell" and keep increasing the dosage in such large amounts! ... ER visits are not fun! I know you are frustrated ... but try to keep a level head.

Yes I have used tri-mix for years but lately mine is not working well, I am having a vascular test tomorrow to test for vein leakage that sounds like what you may have. If you like e-mail me it is jryancey44@frontier.com I will be glad to help you if I can.

Update-The tests showed I had leakage and blood flow problems. I would recommend that test to anyone who wants to know what causes their ED.

Libra,

Sorry to hear that your Trimix journey so far has sucked ...

There is not too much magic to how Trimix or any other injection works -- it dilates the smooth musle/arteries supplying the penis and Whosh .. should fill up. Either you don't have the flow enough to get you up there or it is leaking out as fast as it goes in. Either way is bad. With injections there's no grunting, holding breath, clenching muscles or watching porn or massaging to help you get it all the way up. Either the flow does it, or it don't. Being in good cardio shape I think also helps but I don't know how much that would be. I used to be in good cardio shape .. now not so much .. and shots need a little more juice than in the past. Gotta get treading more water and treadmill!!

You did mention it was 2005 surgery -- and no types of penile therapy done all that time? no pills? no daily pumping? Nuthin? That could be a problem in itself. Penile atrophy does not take long to happen (a matter of months) if no nocturnal erections are occurring nightly. I started with a pump 4 weeks after surgery and used for 4 years ever since (less so now that I am using PGE-1 or Trimix). Gotta have that bloodflow every day however you can get it.

Future readers take note -- get SOMETHING flowing in ol Willie anyway you can as soon as you can after surgery -- and keep in good Cardio shape if you can.

RP 2008 ... MUSE 2008-9 .. TriMix Gel 2009 .. Trimix 2009-2015 ... PGE-1 2016-2019 ..Misoprostal 2019 Onward. All worked.

Try using a foam sleeve and a constriction ring from a pump kit, then try 20 units . Give it 20 minutes to work. You need to be pumping daily for therapy. Dont pump up before injecting. Just pump for therapy. The ring helped me go from 40 units to 6 units. The foam sleeve makes the ring comfortable. I leave it on the whole time during sex.

I'm having similar problems you are having. I have injected about 10 times and only had results two time good enought for penetration. So, I am going back to doctor to consider implant.

I just had a vascular test it showed I had blood flow problems and leakage. The doctor said one way to stop leakage is by standing up or using a band or cock ring. That type of test will show you what you are up against,I would highly recommend it.[quote="Jollis"]Libra231

If using a constriction ring I assume the 30 minute rule still applies. Yes or No.

Yes. 20 minutes would be a better rule with a tight tension band such as the Osbon.
