Well, shit keeps coming my way. My cardiologist implanted a pacemaker in my chest in December and now wants me to start taking Eliquis (very pricey). He says there is no bleeding problems with finger sticking for my type 2 diabetes but not so sure about my penile injections with bimix. He wants me to consult with my urologist.

So much for the golden years. l think the universe is out to get me.

I can only share with you my own experience...In 2012 I under went cardiac by-pass surgery of the LAD artery. ( widow maker). 2 days later while in the hospital recuperating I had a stroke..a TIA as I was informed.. Due to that stroke I have been taking a blood thinner for some 12 years. The blood thinner is Plavix, and it is in generic form which is very cheap. I have continued to inject Trimix for the past 12 years with barely any issues After 2 years of injecting I did develop 2 very small nodules on the left side of my penis. I consulted a Peyronies specialist who prescribe VED therapy, Vitamin E, another blood thinner ( Pentoxifyline), V which is usually given for poor circulation in your lower extremities. After about 6 months of daily VED therapy and doing injections only once a week ( The Doc's recommendation) the nodules resolved themselves. I am not a diabetic so IDK about the finger sticks. Injecting while on blood thinners is possible you just have to apply pressure to the injection site for a minimum of 5 minutes..the longer the better if you can. For years I continued with the VED therapy which helps maintain healthy tissue within the penis. There is life after blood thinners..You just have to be careful and mindful with applying pressure for a longer period of time...on any wound for that matter, besides the injection site. Good luck to you. I would discuss with your cardiologist another less expensive blood thinner. I would avoid Coumiden if possible. That thinner requires lab work and avoidance of certain foods.

Reggieman: I use 31 gauge needles for Trimix injection, the thinnest available as far as I know, on the theory that they cause the minimum of tissue damage. You might ask the urologist whether there are any 32 gauge. (I'm not worried about breakage since the steel is very ductile.)

I just began using Trimix,which my urologist prescribed knowing I am on Eliquis. I do try to apply pressure longer after injection. Many YouTube instructions by physicians talk about applying pressure longer if you are on blood thinners.

On Eliquis and have had no problem with injection. One urologist said I couldn't inject on Eliquis but another younger urologist had no problem with it. I am not always the best at applying extra pressure. Too big a hurry to get going with the fun.

I used to do the injections ..I'm on Eliquis also never had an issue with bleeding ... I did use the auto injector due to my hands and my g/f's shack hands .. it put the needle in nicely but let you push the plunger in to control the flow of the trimix. I help pressure for a couple of minutes as I massaged my penis as I was told to get the medication blended into my penis.

Well, I found that pinching the alcohol wipe for 5 minutes prevents bleeding for me.
