I just can't get the Trimix dosage right.

Postby Manima » Mon Aug 05, 2024 9:46 am

Hi community - this is my first post here, but I've been lurking over several years.

I've been on Trimix for about a year and use it about once a month for those "special occasions". The problem is the inconsistent results.

I've recently adjusted to 5 units (0,05 ml) and that worked amazingly well. Three hours living the dream - I was even feeling that I might have exaggerated, as my erection was very hard and didn't soften until after the full three hours. That seemed a bit much. So I decided to down-adjust to 4 units (0,04 ml), but when I tried that, I couldn't feel any effect at all! This was within 2 weeks, and I can't identify any other factors that would void the 4 units. This is just one example, I've had other experiences like that. I've also had good results with only 3 units.

A few considerations:
  • My doctor actually recommended that I start with 10-30 units (!), but I wanted to be careful and since I was seeing good results at lower dosages, I at first didn't see a reason to go higher. But now I'm considering it.
  • I'm wondering if I'm not applying the injection consistently. I usually inject all the way at the base, but instructions usually say somewhere mid-penis. I switch between left and right and try to get always inject at the same angle (45%).
  • The needle I use is 12,7x0,33mm - any thoughts if that is ok?

Any ideas why my results vary so much?

For reference, I'm on this mix (named "R9"):

Prostaglandin E1 --- 12 mcg / mL
Phentolamine ------ 1.1 mg / mL
Papaverine -------- 9 mg / mL
Atropine ---------- 0.11 mg / mL

I’ve been injecting for several months now. I’m no expert, but it sounds like you had a miss with the 4 unit attempt. When I first started injecting, I missed on my left side almost every attempt. Now I have a routine, I haven’t had a miss on either side for quite awhile.

I pump up to about 50 to 75 % erect and pop a ring on. This gives me time to study the target area making sure there are no veins and that I will hit the corpus.

After I insert the needle, if I feel pain, I pull it out and try another spot. If you feel, you are not in the correct spot.

I would suggest that you try injecting at least once or twice a week, even if you have to go solo. Practice will likely help your situation.

Good luck and keep us updated.

I have almost the exact story. I started out on 15 but im so hard it hurts. I cant get to climax at anything over 4ml. The problem I have is sometimes when i insert the needle i cant pess the plunger. it wont let me inject no matter how hard i try. I sometimes have to stick myself 3-4 times to find a spot it will let me depress the plunger. By that time now my entire dick is sore and its not pleasurable anymore. My first 20 or so times injecting I had success everytime. now its hit or miss either it doesnt work or i have to inject 2-3 times.

Manima: Welcome to Frank Talk. Some guys have trouble injecting at the base. Try going a little higher. I use my entire length, alternating sides each time, to avoid needle damage building up. I don't know what your 45 degrees is; the needle should be plumb to your skin (90 degrees in both directions). I use 8mm needles at most locations, but my penis is smaller than average. I think 12.7mm is good for larger penises.

shane: If there is any resistance to plunger travel, you are not in a corpus cavernosum (see diagram). Pull out and try another spot. Likewise, if there is any pain when injecting, you are in some wrong place. Pull out and try again.

Go through the "Injections" topic and you will find good technique. It's tricky and takes a lot of solo practice twice a week or so. Post or PM me if I can help.

Hey. All good answers.
I would like to add that maybe when you cannot inject, the needle may not be in far enough. You could try going in deeper. I often have to do so. Also, if you can slightly pull back on the plunger, while holding the syringe in a steady position, blood may appear in the needle. That may mean you are in the cavernosa, and you should then be able to perform the injection.

I found that I went thru the wall of the corpus going in and hit the wall on the other side and could not inject. So, I finally figured it out. My remedy was to pull the needle back just a little to get the tip back into the corpus. The plunger works every time.

This happens to me too. Easy injections initially and after a few weeks no way will the plunger go down and it’s butchery trying to find a spot. Scar tissue is very dense and cannot be injected into, so that is one possibility. Check for nodules. My problem improves if I take a break of a month or two, so my guess is that when the plunger won’t depress I might be trying to inject into or through blood clots or volumes of inflammation caused by previous injections.

I think some of us get more bleeding and take much longer to heal than others. I do believe it is very important to compress the injection site for long enough after injection so you don’t get a lot of blood clotting into the surrounding tissue and consequent inflammation.

If you insert the needle and find you can't depress the plunger, don't pull it out and try another spot. You leave it there and adjust the depth. You may have to go deeper but it's almost as likely you have to go shallower. Just adjust until the plunger goes down easily. At least with me going too deep is fairly easy to do.

I've learned that if I pre-fill a syringe, even if only 10 or 15 minutes before injection, I need to leave an 8th inch of air in the top of the syringe when filled so that when ready I can depress the plunger a bit before injecting. It seems that the meds when sitting in the syringe, for even a fairly short time, a ring of invisable resistance develops at the plunger location. This makes the initial plunger depress difficult. Withdrawing the plunger before injecting doesn't resolve this. The ring of resistance remains until you push past it. If the needle is already in your dick that complicates using plunger resistance as a proper depth indicator. When solving this plunger resistance issue by pulling air into the syringe while pre-filling, remember to position the syringe while resting it so that the air doesn't migrate away from the tip. That way, before injecting you are able to hold the syring needle up and then push the air out and with the plunger pushing past the resistance. I suspect that was as clear as mud.

Hi everyone. I just wanted to take the time and thank you all for replying. I really appreciate it!

From this thread, I'm reaching the conclusion that my problem isn't the dosage, it's the application. This made me go back and think of all the times I've use Trimix - there were at least 3 times when it barely worked, always using similar dosage. So I guess I need to practice more.
