Vial change from different pharmacy

Postby roy123 » Mon Oct 28, 2024 1:50 pm

Hello All

i am currently getting a vial from a pharmacy that is far away from my place and is a newly established accredited pharmacy.

i would like to change my vial supply (same ingredient composition) from a much well reputed and older pharmacy closer to my house. this pharmacy has confirmed that they can supply my customised trimix

if i do this then what should i do to try my new vial?

should i stick to the same dosage or shall i do something else to test?

are vials from different pharmacies same in terms of efficacy?

Theoretically, if the formula is the same the efficacy should be the same.

thanks for your reply. i am just concerned if a lesser known pharmacy is using cheap or low quality ingredients for the formula. is this a valid concern? both pharmacies are in canada and accredited by OCP in canada.

Well it's something I'd be a little concerned about in the back of my mind. It is a locally compounded drug, usually, so there could be a little variation. But it shouldn't be a major concern. I think if it was me I'd proceed under the assumption that the drugs will be comperable.

If you're worried about it, do you first injection alone. Use it as a test run to see how things go. You can either lower the dose as an experiment or, keep it the same but have some Sudafed/antidote on hand.
