Is Trimix better than Edex ?

Postby dinows » Sat Nov 23, 2024 6:54 pm

Doctor gave me Edex which is VERY expensive, really doesn't do the job. Has anyone tried Edex then Trimix ? Is trimix better ?

Thanks for any help

Yeah, Edex is expensive. That's what I started on but my insurance quit covering it fairly soon after I started on it. I then discovered I could get the active ingredient, alprostadil, (prostaglandin E 1 or PGE1) compounded in a stronger mix allowing me to inject a smaller volume and way cheaper. However, unlike with the Edex cartridges it must be refrigerated and if you want to keep it longer it must be frozen. I find it works better than Edex and it's much easier to adjust your dose. The Edex is still great for it's unrefrigerated shelf life if you can keep a few for emergencys.

The tri-mix is better for some guys. Most use it because it isn't as likely to cause pain which some guys get from from alprostadil. Also the components of tri-mix supposedly work synergistically where the whole is greater than the sum. There may be a greater risk of scaring or fibrosis with tri-mix as compared to straight alprostadil but none are risk free.
Good luck.
