So I'm fairly new to injections for my ED. I've taken probably 8 or so injections. I usually take 7-8 units of Trimix 105 (that is several years old) and my erections last for ~4 hours...which is a lengthy time commitment but I don't mind at all considering how long I've struggled with ED. Just being hard literally makes me happy...so I don't see it as a problem.
Tonight goes as normal...wife tells me she's interested in sex later this evening, so I inject at 5pm and she'll be home around 6. Now I normally don't inject and look at porn but I was thinking I'd be nicely edged by the time she got home....and I was. We proceeded to have phenomenal sex like we used to when my plumbing worked and like we have been having since starting the shot protocol a few months ago.
Around 9pm, I needed to go to bed to be up at 4:30 for work. Went to sleep thinking my erection would go down in the next 1/2 hour or less like normal. Woke up at 11pm....still hard AF. Panicking (b/c the first time I took 10 units of Trimix at my urologist for an ultrasound to determine if I had venous leak, I had a priapism that had to be drained that night in the ER after about 5-6 hours) I got out of bed and was thinking of taking the Sudafed doses to bring it down but decided to try and workout instead...which (thank God in heaven) after some pull ups and heavy squats finally did.
My question is: Does anyone have ANY idea what caused me to be erect an extra 3 hours with the same dosing I normally, reliably have been having 4 hour erections? I know the meds are old, but they should be getting weaker....not stronger. The reason I included the porn/edging info was that was the only thing different I can think of I did. Maybe I got so aroused the valves in the base of my penis clamped down harder than normal and just didn't want to release?
I will say that the literature I've read on priapism says 4 hours is typically when to go to the ER, but 6 is also okay. I even saw some reference material saying one could go substantially longer without permanent damage. My "priapisms" were never painful....and some amount of blood flow was still occurring based on the fact that I can use constriction rings to inflate the glans or enlarge the shaft to make it girthier as well. All I know is I didn't want to go get it drained at the ER again after the hellish experience I had last time and I'm extremely thankful it went down with vigorous exercise, but it leaves me questioning my dosage for future escapades with the wife.
Any ideas?

Re: Perplexing Situation....7 Hour Erection from Trimix 105
You're a beginner injector, and injecting is tricky, so I'm thinking that your four-hour erections were after not-quite-perfect injections; not all the Trimix went into the corpus. Your longer erection probably resulted from a perfect hit. Go down to 5-6 units and expect two-hour erections. Maybe some will be 45 minutes and others two hours because your technique varies.
My urologist said to head to the ER after four hours because gangrene could begin due to lack of oxygen at six hours. Some noticeable blood flow though must be a good sign, but I'm not a medical person.
I was told to take 120mg phenylephrine (Wal-Phed PE and other brands), but Sudafed is also said to work. But be aware that going through the stomach and getting into the small intestine for absorption into your bloodstream and to your penis will take a long time, especially if there's any food in your stomach. I haven't used the injectable phenylephrine, but some FT guys prefer it. You have to get it from your doctor.
Personally, wife and I have sex in the morning when we're both rested (and my stomach is empty); after years of injecting experience, about 500 injections, I can dial up any erection duration. After you get up to maybe 100 injections, you will probably be getting reliable and predictable results.

Age 81 in 2026. On testosterone replacement due to hypothalamus malfunction. (Attention depressed guys: low testosterone is a cause.) Healthy health nut but ED due to getting old. Like to keep enough cardiovascular ability to thrust for 25 min.
