Why I’m leaving injections behind for implant.

For those that have done the implant after using injections, how do you find erection quality and sensation between the 2?

Erection quality is 1,000 times better for me. Erections are on demand and almost instantaneous with zero preparation.
In my experience both size and hardness are far superior to Trimix induced erections (for the short time that they worked for me).
My implanted penis after cycling and healing is back to my pre ED size when erect and much larger flaccid.
Restoring sensation was harder won. After surgery I did have some numbness on the underside of the shaft above the penoscrotal incision.
That persisted but very slowly improved over many months. But I didn't lose any sensation where it really matters and could orgasm during PIV sex fairly consistently after about 6 months. From about 9 months I could orgasm 100% of the time from either sex or masturbation.
Everyone is different, but for me there is no comparison.

Would you elaborate, please. I'm on injections and suffering from anorgasmia. AFAIK, the anorgasmia predated beginning ICI, so I do not attribute the anorgasmia to the injections. But, who knows? When you refer to "sensations", are these the same as the sensitivity that eventually brings you to climax? Did you have difficulty climaxing on injections? Thanks for sharing your experience.

Yes, the "sensations" are those that bring you to climax. It may be different for others, but the injection made my glans feel sore, like I had been pounding away for hours. That soreness certainly was a distraction at best, and a climax killer at the worst. I'm sure that for others, they may not get that soreness, so not an issue for them with injections.

I’m a week out from getting my Titan implant from Doctor Eid. I have been using bi mix for 5+ years. It’s remarkably effective there’s no questioning that. However, it’s gotten to the point where it’s clear that years of poking holes in my penis is starting to physically change it. With that has come a constant fear that comes with sex “ am I damaging my self”. That is not a thought you want associated with your sex life.

1. It’s unpredictable how long my injection erections will last for and sometimes I even have to use the antidote. Hate the waiting for it to go soft.

2. Spontaneity. I want to be able to have sex when I want, where ever I want. That is extremely difficult with injections. I want to wake up next to a girl in the morning, pump it up a few times and roll over and have sex to start the day. I want to go on vacation and not have carry a needle around and refrigerate it.

3. I just want the freedom back.


So those are my reasons if anyone on the fence can relate.

This was exactly my experience. Well over a decade of injections, and they still worked well. However my sensitivity was decreased, and the injections were terrible for spontaneity. I just wanted to get back to being able to have sex without scheduling it.

One thing you might find is damage done you didn't even know about. i had no obvious signs of PD or scarring, but during surgery Dr. Hakky found significant fibrosis in the cavernosa that required about 15 extra minutes to dilate through.

Erection-wise, I'd say for me the quality between Trimix and the Titan is comparable...both provide very hard erections. But the Titan has the great advantages of being able to "dial in" exactly how hard you want it, as well as being able to take it down in sexonds when you're done. No more waiting around anxiously with Sudafed wondering how long it will be before you can do other things!

This part. Eid found during surgery a ton of scar tissue in my crus we weren’t counting on. He handled it but it just makes me even more thankful I pulled the plug on injections when I did.

It’s a little scary because my fibrosis didn’t show up on the doppler scan, so it was unanticipated at the time of surgery. Given my long experience with injections, I not consider injections a stop gap to be used while pursuing an implant. I just don’t think they work out well long term for many patients.

I totally get it. For me and my wife the needle is working well for us at the moment, we don’t have much opportunity to be spontaneous anyway due to being in a house full of people (in-laws and kids) and our respective schedules, and on those occasions we CAN have sex, we want to HAVE SEX without worrying whether things won’t work and we have to wait another week to try again. I’m happy for now.
But when the time comes for the implant I’ll fully embrace it and enjoy the spontaneity again for sure. It’ll be nice to completely drop the bullshit that is associated with the needle.

If they are working well for your needs then yeah they really really do the job super well. If your penis I’d tolerating it then that’s good.

To be honest, if you are worried about "damaging yourself" with injections, you can be 100% sure you ARE damaging yourself with an implant. Irreversibly, drastically so.
After ~20 years of using injections, i have 0 "damage" that people worry about - no scarring, no weird things, nothing. However, it does work way less than before, so that's a legit concern to have.

I get your other points, spontaneity and control, but still keep in mind that an implant doesn't "automatically work" like a healthy body would. It's still won't be spontaneous, it'll just be faster and more predictable. However, it'll also require revisions which ARE unpredictable - some people last for 10+ years without a revision, others have to do them in a few years, some even during the same year after the surgery... And that's a thing to live with, never knowing when it'll fail and you'll be stuck for an unknown amount of time with a non-functional penis.


So yeah... not trying to rain on your parade, but to expose some real aspects of the decision.

After ~20 years of using injections, i have 0 "damage" that people worry about - no scarring, no weird things, nothing. However, it does work way less than before, so that's a legit concern to have.

There's no way you can know this. I did injection therapy for well over a decade, with no sign of any issues. Injections still worked well. No scarring or fibrosis was evident on an ultrasound.

During surgery, Dr. Hakky found *significant* fibrosis in the corpora that didn't show up on the scans, yet took him over 15 minutes to dilate through to place the implant. He was able to get through it but at first he wasn't sure if he'd be able to. If I had waited too much longer for the implant there's a possibility when the time came the surgery would have not been possible.

Having zero signs or symptoms of problems with injections doesn't mean you don't have them. I am of the opinion that injections damage all men, some quickly and some over decades.

I wouldn't say an does irreversible damage to the penis any more than a pacemaker does to the heart. Both are devices designed to replace a normal body function when that function no longer works. It's more like replacing a damaged component than doing damage to that component. I think you're looking at it backward. If your dick doesn't work, "doing damage" that restores function seems like a no-brainer.
