Question about Trazodone

my doctor started me on 25mg of trazodone nightly to help with ED. i had robotic RP on 3/9 so right now i have no natural erections of any kind. i take 5mg daily of Cialis with an extras 10mg twice per week on doctors orders. i also started injections about 3 weeks using bimix. i read that trazodone doesn't affect everyone but just wondering how long should i expect to wait until i see if its helping? 1 week or more?

umm.... weird that no one has an opinion on this one. did i note state my question correctly? basically wondering how long before the affects of taking the med will i start to see any results. granted, since i had RP in March, 2015 it may be to soon to tell anyway. if trazodone "talks" to the nerves then i don't expect to see any results for a while i suppose.

I take Trazodone PRN for sleep (150mg). One of the side effects is an erection. It's also given for depression.

Trazodone is anti depressant so indirectly could effect erection. Many A-D (especially Zoloft) can effect ejaculation and can be given for pre mature ejaculation. However, Trazodone is not usually one given for this.

I was on trazodone for about 10 years in the pre-Viagra era. My understanding is that it's a sedative or anti-depressant that was discovered to have the side effect of (sometimes) stimulating erections. So docs began prescribing it off-label for that use.

However, my impression is that it's mild stuff — kindergarten medication compared to viagra or cialis, and certainly light years behind trimix. My good luck was that viagra and cialis came along about the time trazodone stopped working for me. And trimix was there when the pills didn't do the job anymore.

from what i gather from the comments, taking Trazodone may not really help me. i am post-prostate surgery and take daily Cialis 5mg. currently am getting no natural erections though its been just 3 months post-op. i was hoping Traz would give me a boost even though Cialis doesn't help yet.

I take trazodone for sleep as well. I have noticed zero effect on erections.

For what is worth, when I started injectable meds, doc started me with bi-mix. Bi-mix really didn't work for me very well. Erections were mediocre. I convinced him to switch me to tri-mix and that works really well. Raging 19 year old boy hard-ons. Of course your mileage may vary, but if I remember correctly a fair number of guys here were also unhappy with bi mix and were very happy once they switch to tri-mix.

i did a test-drive with trimix gel some time ago. this is relatively new and is inserted into the urethra from the tip. after about 5mins i started with pain, then severe.....lasted for about 1 hour. never did get an erection though, (a little i suppose) but was in so much pain it didn't matter. i would like to try trimix injections too at some point but hope my normal erections will return soon. Dr says he would expect me to fully recover at about the 6 month mark. i am at 4 months post surgery now. a little scared of the pain of trimix though.

Trazodone is a specifies medication for the treatment of despressão and schizophrenia. In a study of patients with ED the use of trazodone the effectiveness was null. The use of trazodone 50 mg with yohimbine 15 mg/day presented effectiveness in 51% of patients after 6 months. Another study with patients with EP presented be efficient in 59% of patients after 3 months of treatment
