I've just started trimix. The packet I received must be reconstituted but has the advantage of not requiring refrigerating. I get ten small vials of powder mix and one large one of the water solution along with plenty of needles.
My URO didn't offer a lot of help in fact I don't think he was familiar with this type of trimix.
He demonstrated the injection using water only and then sent me home. His instructions were to fill the needle about half way. After doing a lot of online searching I finally figured out that I need to use the bigger needle to draw 1cc of water. (that's the max the needle will hold) and then inject that into the small bottle of freeze dried powder.
Now I think I am supposed to draw out what I need from this small bottle that I've mixed with the insulin needle and inject it. It is my understanding that I can put the unused mix in the fridge and use it later. (supposed to be good for seven days)
First try was a failure. I think I missed the correct spot.
Second attempt success with larger than normal erection but experienced uncomfortable pain and failure to climax. Erection lasted about two hours.
Question is will reducing amount of injection (now at 5 - half the volume of the insulin needle) to maybe 4 or 3 reduce the pain?
Second question: Am I mixing this stuff correctly?
I would really like to hear from someone that has experience using the dry trimix.

Something is very wrong with this. Get another urologist. I found this video on line.

Re: Reconstituting Trimix
That sounds like how I get tri-mix. The instructions said for me to add 1cc of fluid, but I add 2cc. I do find it keeps much longer than 7 days in the refrigerator.
Depending on your formula, you're probably injecting way too much.
I just watched the videos and I guess the vials are supposed to be single dose ones?
I get almost 10 doses from one vial of mine. I'd just try different amounts til you get the right one.

You said you mix 2cc.The mixing hypo provided in my kit only holds 1cc. Do you inject the small vial of dry mix twice with water? 1cc only fill it half way so I could do this but it seems it would dilute it quite a bit.
I like the idea of being able to get more injections out of the kit but even at a single dose the cost isn't bad. I've seen online where I can order additional needles etc. in lots of 100 for twelve to twenty dollars. Is this what you do?
I did put in a call to my URO but no response yet. If I don't get a call back I'll reduce injection to 2.5 (half what I used last time) and see what happens.

Re: Reconstituting Trimix
My compounder provides a 3cc/ml syringe. If I only had 1cc/ml syringe, I'd do it twice.
It's funny, but one thing I've noticed is the vial of dry stuff has a vacuum that sucks out the saline solution from the big syringe.
I noticed the one in the second video didn't do that.
Not a big deal at all though.
By the way, I get the syringes for injecting at Walmart for a bit over $12 for 100.
I buy syringes and needles for injecting testosterone from Atlantic Medical Supply online. If necessary, I could use them to fill the vials.

Re: Reconstituting Trimix
.5 ml seems like a HUGE amount. I was having issues using tri-mix , because of poor instructions from Uro and poor injecting procedure. When I used 45 units I had a raging erection for 5 hours, got to use it twice but the pain got horrible and was on the way to the hospital when it started to go away. The tri-mix was inconsistent for me and there was always horrible pain for hours. I went to bi-mix , no pain but did not work nearly as good , went the implant route, much better

Re: Reconstituting Trimix
Thanks for the feedback.
I did try 10 full units of water into the small vial with a 5 unit injection the next time. (half a needle) (I'm not sure what the measurements are ie: ML, mi, units, .5, 50, etc.)
I injected on the other side this time. Anyway success with a good erection lasting a little over an hour. I did find if it started going a little soft I could stand up and it would return. Also found that laying down after sex help the erection to go down quicker.
I saved the remaining unused reconstituted mix in the fridge for future use. Hope it works. Might try 2.5 units next time as a test.

It's funny, but I have the opposite result. While lying down I stay up; when rising, I go down.

Re: Reconstituting Trimix
DaddyMac99,
As a beginner, why are you not using a standard formula from a compounding agency vs. mixing your on Trimix?

I've tried everything -- pills, injections pumps -- and now I am at the final frontier.

To Cigar 56
I'm new at this too. My understanding is that the trimix that must be reconstituted was developed to eliminate the need to refrigerate. My URO also gave me a story that because of a large compounding company in calif. that was using unsafe practices (he said some people died) compounding, (he said mixing other stuff with the trimix) that federal regulations were imposed on all compounders and that many small concerns quit providing trimix because it wasn't all that profitable. Anyway this is what he recommended and being new to the game I said fine.
I have only received one packet. It consist of 10 small vials of freeze dried trimix and one bottle of the water to mix with it. Needles and swabs are also provided. It's not a big deal to mix he just didn't explain it very well. It's just an extra step. I have to say that being unfamiliar with injections it might not be for beginners but what do I know. It does solve the problem of needing to refrigerate when you travel, vacations, etc.
My web searches do say that the larger premixed kind can get crystals or become cloudy after being frozen and must be discarded but I have no experience with that.
The small vials are supposed to be single use but others on this site say they have gotten several injections out of one small vial after mixing. (One guy said ten but he said he only needed 1 ml) I'm still experimenting with that.
Cost: I paid $120 for the kit so if used as single use that's twelve bucks a shot but if I can get more injections out of a vial then the cost goes down a bunch.
