Is anything better than Edex ?
Is anything better than Edex ?
I have been using Edex for several years , using their #40 which is their largest dose and does a "so-so job" . Has anyone who has used Edex had better luck with one of the other meds, such as bimix, trimix or quadmix. Thanks for your help, Deano
Re: Is anything better than Edex ?
Never tried Edex, only Trimix. Edex is alprostadil. Trimix is three drugs that include alprostadil. Trimix works for me after
Viagra failed.
From what I have read, Edex and Caverject are both very expensive - > $100 per dose.
I am on Trimix and even with price increases, it is $85 for 5ml vial from compounding pharmacy. I am lucky in that I only need 0.13ml per injection. If you do the math, it costs me about $3 per injection, including the syringe and wipes. Price alone would be worth a try.
I would ask your Uro about Trimix.

So, I use both. Trimix when home, and Bimix when traveling b/c it doesn't have to be kept refrigerated.
Bimix is available from canadadrugs.com for about $37/dose which is pricey, but, heck: on a nice trip with the bride you want to have a little fun.
I've noticed tho, that I get a better erection with Bimix - is anyone buying this from a local compounding pharmacy, and if so: how much?

Re: Is anything better than Edex ?
I just finished a 10 ml vial that came from Talon Compounding Pharmacy in San Antonio at price of $99.85. At my standard dosage of 18 units I got 60 doses from it at $1.66 per dose. The math says I got 4.5 extra doses out of the 10 ml vial. Either they slightly over-filled or a few of my syringes were a tiny bit under-filled.

Re: Is anything better than Edex ?
I've been on Edex (Alprostadil) for nearly 5 years. My pricing experience matches once a writer's, about $1.60 per dose. So price is not a reason to not use Edex. I use about 10 of the units on the syringe. Experiments with higher, up to 20 units, and lower, as small as 4 units, show the strong "erection power" of Edex, either way, nearly 100% ! I use it to masturbate solo as well as with my wife after intercourse. I have no idea where the hugely overstated costs per dose people cite come from. I also have just read that many insurance companies cover Edex but not Tri Mix.
That being said I am in the process of trying Tri Mix, in hope that a change can help me correct a problem with very delayed ejaculation, 'anorgasmia". I can reach orgasms, but only after hard fast stroking, almost never from intercourse alone, or oral or manual from my wife. I figure that trying something new won't hurt . So I will soon be able to answer the question posed here. lol..Is anything better than Edex, for ME ? Looking forward to the in-office part of the trial run, likely next week.

I can vouch for the high Edex cost. You obviously have very good prescription insurance. I don't remember my cost when it was covered by insurance but it was considerably more and limited to 4 (I think) per month. Then they quit covering it at all. I think my cost was going to be $80 bucks a pop or something of the sort. Compounding pharmacies saved my sex life.

I can't answer your question from an experience perspective. However, I believe the correct answer would be that some ED injection drug or drug combinations work better for some people and others work better for other people. You won't know if you don't try. IMH layman's O you would be a prime candidate for trying other options.

Re: Is anything better than Edex ?
I wonder if we’re confusing Edex when $upplied in $pecial prefilled $yringe$ with the already constituted version that you draw up in a vial...?
I use the syringes when traveling bc I can’t always keep things refrigerated, but they are pricey.

My insurance doesn't cover Edex/Alprostadil at all....or trimix. Those are prices I pay per dose from a compounding phanecy in San Diego. Excellent one!

@goodwoodnow: are you getting that in a vial with a rubber stopper from which you draw your dose? If so, I think everyone here would like to get the contact information for that pharmacy!!!
