I'm 61 years old and started having problems with ED over the last 10 years. In the beginning the pills worked and as the years have passed only marginal success with Viagra etc. 2 months ago went to local clinic specializing in ED and was prescribed Alprostadil /Papaverine /Atropine cocktail injections with a starting dose of 12 units.
My first injection was only 8 units because I was a bit unsure of what to expect. Very good erection like I haven't had in decades but the problem was it would not go down. In the end had to see Dr who gave me I think a Phenylephrine injection. About 4 days later I injected 4 units and had excellent result but took just over 3 hours to deflate. The last few times I have used 3 units and its deflated after 2 and a half hours, so things looking good. But I have had 2 failures (out of 12 injections) when I have injected 3 units and nothing happened, these have been a month apart and I would like to know what I am doing wrong?
I use the InjecAid auto injector with U-100 insulin syringe. Been told to use it at the 1 o’clock and 11 o’clock position and away from the mid line.
My questions are, where did the drug go?, did I inject right through the Corpus Cavernosum?, what depth should the needle penetrate? – at present the InjecAid is set to 8.5mm, is this too much?, should I be injecting at 9 and 3 o’clock?, should I use a pump and ring before injecting to get a small increase in size before injecting? (read this some where)?
Ok experts, let hear
Mike
Tried the pills, and pump, no luck.

Mike,
Pretty nice that all you need is 3 units -- cripes that bottle will last a lonng time -- think of all them Big-E's !!
But at only 3 units, yeah you don't have much margin for error or adding an extra unit or two for good measure.
The 8.5 mm (1/3") is kind of shallow tho. A regular short needle is 10mm and the half inch is 12.5mm or so.
I suppose it you just hit a tough spot on the way in (a piece of gristle perhaps ?) it might have stopped the needle.
I've had only 1 failure in over a hundred tries so far. And I should have seen that one coming since when I tried to push the plunger I could feel the extra resistance. I stopped and pushed the needle a little more but then was only a few units left (of the 10) in the syringe -- so it was No Can Do Night that nght ....
I guess you can't tell with the auto-injector. But at 8.5mm does not sound like going all the way thru -- and I won't even question your manly bits could be that skinny. I inject at about the 2-3pm position all the time. One side or the other.

Mike - I pretty much agree with Jim however I know I have also injected too far and not gotten good results. . . guess it all depends on your 'anatomy'. (yes, I believe my manly bits are that skinny! ) Like Jim I've kinda been able to tell if I've gone too far - harder to push in the plunger. Just keep givin' it the ole e.d. try! Good luck! Rick
