Well i am using caverject and i have kinda similar problems with injections, once it goes well once hit the wrong spot so i get very itching at the base of gland other time the same amount worked half
I guess this
1) as you mentioned maybe there are some lots of alprostadil that are half working or deteriorated by exposing to high temperature etc... check also the expiring date coz i know that there is a normal decay
2) It could be that you inject in the artery and not the "sponge of CC" so the medication goes idk where
3) in one site i seen that there is an indication of putting a lace on the base of penis this i think could help to mantain the medication in the penis in way to avoid its dispersal outside in the body, just the time it need to act then remove the lace (ask your doctor for it)
4) after recostitution of alprostadil you have to inject immediately coz it seems it degrades
5) if you are anxious during the injection that could also cause problems, so try to relax

X-2 on JimStars post. I insert the needle in short jabs. I can feel when I hit the tunica. In me it is thick. Sometimes I don't get all the way through and the needle can not be depressed. I jab a little further and feel it pop through. I always keep the plunger depressed to get every last drop in. As I release that depression it will draw a smidgen of blood into the needle. I depress it over the alcohol swab to see if It has blood. No blood? I missed. Nothing plumps me up except the mix, so I use a Vac device with a silicon cushion. I vac till full length, leave the silicon cushion on and inject beyond the cushion ( 1 inch from base) at 2 or 10. Being Vacuumed it is easier to see where I am shooting. I had total failures with the auto-inject device. Checked my needles on a disecting microscope and needles were bent on the tip. EXTRA hard Tunica?? I use a 5/16 X 31 ga needle.
I have only been doing this a short while. 40 injections. Failures are terrible. Recently my wife was really motivated. I injected did not feel the pop, did not ck for blood, did not message it in. How often does a 75 year old woman get Horney? Well, I made all those mistakes and YEP total failure.
Sorry for your situation, hope this helps. I know how demoralizing the failures are. JOHN

Otherwise, the "new" pinching technique we've been using since i posted this has been quite successful, i suggest everyone using injections to give it a shot (pun intended) if they are having troubles.

What is the pinching technique??

Thanks for the suggestion but with the edex/caverject syringes you can't do that because the plunger can't go back. Guess it's for security reasons.

May I suggest since plunger won't go back .. When you withdraw the needle put pressure depressing down on the plunger .. In other words depress it again and a little droplet of slightly off colored blood should be on tip of needle, as it seems the syringe creates a slight vacuum on its own .. Now this won't help in regards to meds are already injected but it will indicate you indeed we're in the CC .. This method is used by me each and every time after I inject and I'm new to this but I'm also 38 for 38 not a single miss to date .. I use syringes but it's worth a shot for ya.. I've never aspirated ..

I agree with Pabowhunter 100%! You should see a tiny drop of diluted blood at the end of needle, then you know you've hit the right spot!
Use Super Quadmix due to severe Venous leak.Have a GREAT DAY!

I'm not a medical professional of any type and nothing I post should be considered medical advice. What I post here is based on my own experiences and may not be valid for you. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

I currently use alprostadil from a compounding pharmacy and 31G 5/16 needles. However, I used the Edex for a good while with good results before changing to the compounded meds.

With the Edex I did not insert the needle to it's maximum depth. There would still be between 1/8 to 1/4 of the needle exposed, probably closer to the 1/8. I also determined if I was in the correct spot by plunger resistance, similar to how I do it now. If much resistance is encountered then you need to change needle depth. Most likely you need to go a bit deeper but you can also try a smidge shallower if deeper doesn't work.

This method of determining proper position by plunger resistance is harder with the Edex because there is so much more rubber in the syringe creating resistance against the walls of the syringe. Because of that added rubber resistance a little more initial force may be required to overcome the rubber resistance before you can feel for the tissue resistance to the meds being injected. However, once the initial resistance to the rubber is overcome the plunger should then depress easily
and smoothly if you're correctly positioned.

I never tried for or looked for the blood drop described by others. I can't personally attest to the validity of that method. Use whatever works for you.

Good luck

It consist on placing two fingers (thumb+index) at the top and bottom and slightly "pinching" your penis in order to slightly flatten it and thus make the surface/depth the needle will go in larger. This has to be slight and painless, easy since the flaccid penis is very soft and squishy.

I have a feeling these "hit and miss" problems might be more related to penis size (girth) than we would like to believe.
40 years old, married. ED all my life because of spinal cord injury caused by a tumor in early infant age. Using standard EDEX20 since 2007. Increasingly bad results with EDEX in the last few years, but had very good results for at least 10 years.

I totally agree that each user has to experiment and find what needle depth works for them. It's a no-brainer to me that a guy with a much thicker flaccid is likely going to have to go deeper than the guy with a skinny flaccid. Of course there will be many variations as and some thick guys may have dicks with very large corpora cavernosa resulting in less depth needed. You have to find what works for you. Some find the ticket easier than others.

Please create a signature. It makes things much easier to answer your questions without asking a lot of questions. Here's how you do it
Click on your name in the top right corner and select "user control panel"

Then under the big letters "User Control Panel" there is a row of words... select "Profile"

Then down the left had side of the "User Control Panel" select "Edit Signature" (You might have Create Signature or something. I don't know exactly what you'll get because I already have a signature to edit)

Most guys put something like what I have, but you can put whatever you want. Here is mine -
"AMS 700 (18 + 2 rte's). Implanted March 30, 2017 by Dr. Brock of London, Ont, CANADA. Great surgeon. Went in to septic shock and had to have implant removed April 29, 2017. I'm from Belleville, Ontario, CANADA. Appt. for consult for second attempt is on November 6, 2017... I can't wait."

Don't get too carried away with the doctor like his name, address, phone number, etc (anything that looks like advertising for him).. you can certainly say Dr. Jones (great Dr.)

If you need further help, please ask, that's what I'm here for.
