My husband was on Prostaglandin E1 but it became ineffective. He went to the urol who wanted to give him a penis pump. He talked him into trying the Tri-Mix, Standard PPP 5.88ug/18mg/.06mg. He started with 10 units and has worked his way up to 76 units. Increasing the medicine by 10-20 units at a time doesn't seem to make much difference in the way it works. When I play with it, it gets hard but when we start having sex, he loses about 1/2 of it in about 15 seconds. If I play with it or suck it, it comes back but disappears as soon as we start intercourse again. After he comes, the erection comes back and he has to ice it for 1/2 hr or more to have it go away. Does that sound like he needs to have one or more of the medicines stronger? Also, when we have sex, he sweats profusely - he never has had that problem before. He is diabetic, has high blood pressure, high cholestral and acid reflux. Anybody have any suggestions?

Re: New to Tri-Mix
I'm still a newbie here and getting my own dose regulated.
Have you two tried putting on a stretchy silicone cockring around his penis and testicles before you start getting him hard? I am wondering if that might help hold the blood in.
Also have you talked to the doc about the dosage? That might be the best thing to do. I am on bi-mix, which is a little different. They started me at just under 10 Units on the insulin syringe and told me I could increase the dosage as needed.
However they said I should call it I got to 50 units with no results. So I think maybe your husband should call the doc about what is going on. They may need to change the formula.
