I have a 5 ml bottle of 2x strength Trimix that I have been storing in my freezer for about a year. (I know, I know... I should be ashamed of myself.)
Last night, I defrosted it for the first time in 8 months. I noticed there were crystals in the bottom that would not go back into solution no matter how much I shook it. Is that bottle still good? I am using 31 ga needle and there is no way those crystals would fit through the needle.
Are there crystals in your Trimix?
Is it time for me to get another bottle of joy juice?

Try injecting it at your usual dose and see what happens. Then let us know. We appreciate guinea pigs.

My pharmacy puts a six month expiration date for trimix kept frozen. I would say that the crystals are a good indicator that you should toss it. It should be a clear liquid.

Or ask your doctor. But to me the presence of crystals would be enough for me to toss it and get a new bottle.

My pharmacist said to toss any injectables that show any form of crystallization. So I'd suggest to toss it.

Even though it breaks my heart to waste meds, I'm thinking it's time to pitch it. Why take the risk? If it doesn't work i won't know if that's because of me or the reduced efficacy of the drug. Those crystals mean something is not going into solution. Anyone else want to be a guinea pig?

Nah, you should ditch it. Corvetteman Jeff and I will pitch it for a new vial.
