injection pain
Re: injection pain
My Dad had the implant and liked it. For some reason we never talked about it or the whole other process. My son and grandkids are going to hear every detail and fact about my journey. I don't want hem to wander into this mess blind as I did.

May I suggest that you create a signature. It makes things much easier to answer your questions without asking a lot of questions. Here's how you do it
Click on your name in the top right corner and select "user control panel"
Then under the big letters "User Control Panel" there is a row of words... select "Profile"
Then down the left had side of the "User Control Panel" select "Edit Signature" (You might have Create Signature or something. I don't know exactly what you'll get because I already have a signature to edit)
Most guys put something like what I have, but you can put whatever you want. Here is mine -
"AMS 700 (18 + 2 rte's). Implanted March 30, 2017 by Dr. Brock of London, Ont, CANADA. Great surgeon. Went in to septic shock and had to have implant removed April 29, 2017. Appt. for consult for second attempt is on November 6, 2017... I can't wait". From Belleville, Ontario CANADA.
Don't get too carried away with the doctor like his name, address, phone number, etc (anything that looks like advertising for him).. you can certainly say Dr. Jones (great Dr.)
If you need further help, please ask, that's what i'm here for.

Re: injection pain
Second injection: I injected only 10 units. ( First was 30) Got a hard on that was useable but not real hard. There was mild pain. After sex ,I took a sudafed. Mild pain persisted for 2 hrs till erection subsided.
still wondering what would happen to the Aprostadil in the trimix if I didn't refrigerate it. It looses effectiveness if it is not refrigerated but would it still cause the pain.

Newb,
I can only think of a couple of things ...
One: Maybe you have some kind of infection going on in your penis? (And if it is coming from your current batch .. well you could just be feeding it on every shot. Maybe take a close look at the mix -- cloudy or moldy or anything?
Two: Really way out there ... if your current Trimix mixture crystalized out from solution you would end up injecting only PGE-1 and none of the Papaverine -- which helps prevent the ache. Again .. you would have to carefully inspect your vial for tiny crystals or a single big crystal. Usually when it precipitates out the shot just gets weak -- but I suppose if you are supersensitive to PGE-1 it might give you ache (and also less erection as you stated).
That's all i got ...

Re: injection pain
Hi newbie1,
My experience is posted just above yours at the moment. I experienced also not a great number of responses, I don't know why. Maybe it was just my expectations, as a first comer in the injections arena, that I will get lots of support from members with many years of experience and others with similar negative experiences.
Anyway I experienced also unbearable pain from the first and second injections of just Aprostadil. I've asked my uro for TriMix and will get it soon and see if it causes the same pain. I understand that Aprostadil can cause this serious NO-GO-SEX pain in about 30% of men.
However I've read on another forum (cannot remember where - but if you google it you might find it) that the pain is caused by the acidity of the medication and if sodium bicarbonate is added to the mixture the pain is neutralized. The acidity is "...overcome by elevating the pH to a neutral level.”
I am going to ask the compound pharmacist if he could ad sodium bicarbonate to the trimix mixture for me. Maybe there are other members who also had sodium bicarbonate added to their mixtures, please let us know.

DaVinci procedure in Oct 2015, PSA is between 0.02 and 0.03 since then. Nerves couldn't be spared as the cancer invaded the nerves as well as the neck of the bladder. 100% ED, used only a pump and constrictor rings
Re: injection pain
Cas,
That is an interesting thing about the PH.
My BiMix supplier has told me that because it is difficult to dissolve 30mg Pap in 1 ml of water that the PH is made a little acidic to make it dissolves better.
So not sure if raising the PH will totally help or not.
But if you try it both ways .. the results you get would be good data.

Re: injection pain
I wouldn't expect it to solve your problem but have you tried injecting very slowly, using numerous small pulses several seconds apart? I'm curious if it helps you at all. Ultimately, I think you do need a different mix for now.
R.R.P 2011 Mayo Jacksonville, Dr. M. Wehle. Not nerve sparing. C in margins. Radiation 2023, V.E.D, Viagra and PGE-1 (80mcg/ml) injections @ 8 - 14 units. Originally Edex20, then compounded PGE due to cost. Inject. 12 yrs. It works. Treasure coast of FL.
