I've used a cock ring for about 20 years. I used one before any meds, then with Viagra and now Trimix.
It may or may not help, you have to try and see.
Age: 68. Struggled with ED/PE for years.
Used Viagra for 10+ years with mixed success.
In May 2022 started using Trimix with very good results.
Feb 2023 developed PD
2023 still in treatment for PD, and still using Trimix with very good results

I think I will… I really appreciate getting advice and feedback from someone who is actually going through this, which can sometimes be more helpful than a doctor’s advice….I’ll try the Eddie by Giddy first, which I have and which did not work well enough with Viagra, and then see from there… I think you already recommended some in the past, if I’m not mistaken.

Thank you again!

Injections work great for some guys for a long time with little to no scarring. For others, they start having issues after only a few injections. No way to tell which one you will be. Sooner or later, however, you will need an implant. Injections for most are a short-term solution.

It’s so helpful for me to get the perspective of other guys like you, thank you. I didn’t realize my prescription was that week. Am I to assume it is 1/4 string of what you have? I think I will private message you, if you don’t mind…

Yesterday I tried titrated up to 60ml of trimix (up from 40 in Dr. Eid's office) and I got the exact same result, no difference at all, maybe 60%...another Frank Talk member (whom I have PM'd) says my dose is very small (prescription strength is “Trimix 1/4 (8/0.29/2),”)...I can't help wonder whether I have some type of blockage because I went up to the maximum with alprostidal and had the same result for maybe five injections and then my best result in Dr. Eid's office two weeks ago using the maximum for alprostidal, when I was 70-80%, a better result than I've had with two injections of the lower dose Trimix. I would think I would see at least incremental improvement...frustrating.

I'm aiming to try again in two days, on Thursday, 70ml, on a day when the doctor has office hours, at his suggestion in case of priaprism (I haven't had a full erection lasting four minutes, let alone four hours!)

Hi Martin, I think you mean .60ml or 60 units, not 60ml. I inject .15ml or 15 units of trimix 30-1-25 each time out of a 10ml vial for the last year and a half. It does seem like you need a much stronger trimix. I wish you luck. Neil

Hi, yes, that's correct...I'm only just beginning to learn about dosage...my urologist started me on a VERY low prescription...going to try .70 next and see what happens...another Frank talk member is also getting results with the prescription you have...evidently, my urologist, Dr. Eid, is not a fan of Trimix because he thinks scarring/damage is inevitable, which I guess is why I have a weak prescription...but what good is it if it doesn't work?

Well, I tried 70 units last week and 80 units yesterday of my 1/4 strength Trimix and I’m still not there…last week was my best response so far, I was sooo close (maybe 90%)…when I drew out 80 units yesterday, that emptied the prescription vial…looks like I was not only given low strength but also a very small amount (I paid $145 which got me four injections, one in Dr Eid’s office and three at home), so I can’t try 90 or 100. I wrote to Eid through the patient portal to see if I can get a stronger prescription and start by injecting less…I spaced out my three injections because he told me only to inject on days when he was in the office in case of priaprism.

Ironically, yesterday was a day when he was supposed to be in, but I tried phoning multiple times about getting a higher prescription but no one even answered the phone (good thing I didn’t need him for priapism!). So now I am once again set to travel for two weeks and I will try to reset when I return…another forum user told me that Eid doesn’t really ‘believe’ in Trimix because he thinks it inevitably damages the penis…I just hate these half-measures…it’s one thing to be given low strength, but I was also given a small amount, like a trial size (that I paid full price for)…how am I supposed to titrate up?

Why did I have a better response last week at 70 units than yesterday at 80? After last week I was hopeful, now not so much…haven’t had intercourse in 2+ years…

Trimix arrived today…trying to decipher strength

Postby Martin25 » Fri Sep 23, 2022 11:31 am

My new dose of Trimix arrived A short while ago. I’m still unclear about the dosage. Dr. Eid had me try a very low dose that did not work. I wanted to move a step up and found my own compounding pharmacy near me where I could pick it up when it was ready; however, the doctor wanted to use his own pharmacist to have the dosage to his exact specifications. I am going to give the dosage below, and I would appreciate if any tri-mix uses can give me an idea of what strength I have… I was told to use .50 ML for my first injection…I’m also debating whether I should do that first injection at home, or make an appointment to do the injection in the doctor’s office. My decision will be based on how powerful this prescription is.
Yes, I did try asking the pharmacist who couldn’t tell me what the comparative strength was(you don’t really get to speak to a pharmacist when you call this place, you speak to a representative) and the receptionist in the doctor’s office who is very nice but only told me I have the ‘regular dose’, not that helpful… anyway, this is what I have directly transcribed from what I requested from the pharmacist:

Papaverine 17.65 mg/ml
Phentolamine 0.59 mg/ml
Alprostidal 5.9 mcg/ml
(The pharmacist or person processing the order wrote ‘mcg’ by hand)

Fellow trimix users, how does this prescription compare to what you are using? I am a little nervous going to trimix route because of the side effects, but I feel that is my last option before an implant…thank you for any support and advice.

That's still a weak starter mix. However, it is more than twice as strong as the 1/4 mix you had.
