Moving on to Trimix

With a great referral from Antelope I think I've finally found an ED specialist who actually takes the time to listen and to ask me what direction I think I'd like to move in concerning my ED situation. I told him that I think I'd like to give Trimix a chance since Alprostadil wasn't gonna work because of the pain and it's now apparent that Papaverine alone was gonna require more than half of a full syringe of the stuff to get anything close to usable and I don't like the idea of injecting a large volume of material you know where. The first injection will be .2ml (20 units) of Trimix with a low content of Prostaglandin in the mix. The doc said that even though I had the pain with alprostadil (Prostaglandin) I should be OK with such a low dosage of it in the Trimix and also because it'll be diluted somewhat by the other 2 components. Another thing I like about Trimix is the fact that it seems to require less and less dosage as time goes by for a number of you guys using it. Hopefully it'll work for me.

So Steve did you make it to Greg's Dr? Sounds like your on the right track.. only time will tell. Know that if there is still pain the usual mix is BiMix.

I did see Greg's doc-great guy. He set me up with the 30-1-10 formula Trimix which has the lower level of prostaglandin. I picked it up yesterday and I'll have to wait until at least tomorrow (Christmas day) to try it out. I'll start at about 15 units and take it from there. Hopefully it'll be the best Christmas gift for me and the wife.

Congratulations nolaVette. Here's hoping you have the hardest Christmas in years. Now you can compare notes with the other Trimixers.

Hey Steve - Merry Christmas and I'm praying for hard times for you and your wife. If it at times seems a bit unnatural doing it like that, think of it as part of rehab. I can tell you it's probably the best kickstart to a full life that's available. It's giving me more and more results with the blue pills. Enjoy and get well at the same time.

I had quite a scare this evening!
We picked today for my first ever Trimix injection. The doc told me I could start with .2 or .25 ml. But, since I'm always extremely cautious when it comes the risk of priapism I decided to start at .15 ml. I got a good 100%, almost painless erection within 6 or 7 minutes. So we decide to get busy and put it to good use. All went well and I waited for it to start deflating. After 2 hours still rock hard and starting to ache pretty good. I took some Sudafed and put the ice bag to work. At the 3 hour mark no change, so we decided to call the ER to make sure they would know how to deal with it. I talked to a nurse who said I should plan on coming in to be safe. I then thought to call the Urology clinic and was able to talk to a urology nurse who was on-call and she told me to let cold water from the shower hit the affected area for a while to see if that might work. I did that and was very happy when it started to work. By the 4 hour point I knew I was out of the woods. I think I'll cut the dosage in half to .75 ml (7.5 units) and see what happens. What a way to spend Christmas evening!

I like the part about "all went well". The rest is just part of the learning experience. Was it worth it? I'm guessing yes. Here's to more hard times!

Steve: Well I hope you had some joyful times with that unexpected wood.
Sounds like you are read to dial in the right dose for a regular stiffy
Congratulations.

Hey guys, I'd have to say yes, the fun part was definitely worth it. Although I have to admit that while waiting for deflation there was some tolerable pain that i'm hoping will be much reduced when I cut the dosage to half of what I used yesterday. I shouldn't have any problems having "hard times" with this stuff.
A funny thing happened when I was wrapping up the conversation with the ER nurse I spoke to. As we were about to end the conversation I mentioned that I'm gonna hate to have to come into the ER like this. She said something like "Don't worry about it we'll take care of you-just keep a stiff upper lip". About 2 seconds later she realized what she said and we both had a good laugh.
