I'm new here.
Last May I got a perscription for trimix. Doc says (and prescription says) 0.1 ml, which I understand is 10 units. The pharmacist said it would "expire" a week from when I got it and offered to have me wait a few days for a new batch, which would "expire" only 3 weeks later. We talked about the ins and outs and nuances of what "expire" meant, and what the concerns were, and basically I came away with the impression that if I kept it refrigerated properly it'd be fine for months. And I have no doubt that's true. So I just bought what they had on hand.
Tried it the first time while we were on vacation. Probably not the smartest move, especially since there was a plane to catch in the morning. Put in 0.1 ml -- worked great. Really great. And continued to work great, more than 4 hours later. More than 6 hours later.
I used Sudafed and ice, and it did seem to reduce the, ahem, "swelling" somewhat, but it remained fairly well enlarged through the night. Finally on the way to the airport I could tell it was subsiding and things were going to be fine. Probably 9, 10 hours after the injection.
Now nothing about this was painful, and I don't seem to have had any ill effects from it, but of course I read up on what the issues are surrounding really "long" (as in extended time) ... um ... "episodes", so I wanted to be more careful next time.
So over the next month or so I tested. I tried half as much (0.05). Well that was a good 6 hours. Better, but still. Shoot for 4 or under. I was able to get up and "jog" that one off (raising your heart rate/blood flow through the rest of your body can help.)
I took it on a couple more trips, each time worrying about temperature. I put the vial in travel ice packs, kept it in the refrigerators of the places we stayed. I did notice over a few months it did deteriorate, to where 0.05 worked fine, but then after this last trip I tried it (we didn't use it on the trip) even 0.1 did nothing. On each of these trips I'm pretty sure it spent some time at room temperature as the little ice packs don't really last that long.
So I had the prescription refilled.
I tried 0.06. Again with the 10 hour episode, finally brought down by 15 minutes of vigorous exercise (jog in place, jumping jacks, some pushups).
So clearly, I don't need much when the stuff is good. I'm going to try 0.03 next time.
So I'm thinking, when I get this all figured out, I'll do what I've seen suggested here and bring a pre-filled syringe or two when we travel, and leave the rest at home, safely in the refrigerator.
Which brings me to my question ... to freeze or not to freeze? I mean, it says, clearly -- it's labeled "DO NOT FREEZE". And frankly, the refrigerator the last place we stayed was a bit unregulated and some things in it froze. I did not try it during the trip, only afterward. So I really don't know if it was no good even before the trip. I'd had it about 4 months. From what I've read, if you store it well, it shouldn't be completely inert after 4 months. And as I've mentioned, it went on a few trips where it'd probably warmed to room temperature several times for hours at a time.
I've read the abstract of the study that says freezing is good in the long-term. But I also read conflicting information that says it reduces its effectiveness. Still, lots of other people here on the forum talk about freezing it. Or at least freezing the pre-filled syringes before travelling, then storing them in a cold pack.
I've looked up Frio, but that apparently will only maintain room temperature range (64-78 degrees) ... better than 90 or 100, but ...
Comments, strategies, experiences ... anyone?
Trimix Experiences
Re: Trimix Experiences
Here's my non-professional take on that. The only ingredient that deteriorates rapidly unfrozen is the PGE1 or alprostadil. I use the straight alprostadil mono-mix and I keep it frozen. Kept frozen it maintains most of it's potency for 6 months. I'm guessing your mix has a large alprostadil component and that's what is losing potency. I gather, based on this forum, that most tri-mix guys freeze their mix also. Of course you should always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice.

Re: Trimix Experiences
I picked up a small dose of two constituent components of a Bi-Mix or Tri-Mix. Two of the vials stated they needed refrigeration/freezing - the PGE1 and Phentolamine. The Papavarine said "Store at room temperature" . Now what confuses me is that they also say to store Tri-Mix in the freezer for loner terms or refrigerator for short periods YET it contains Papavarine. So go figure. While the label says it will expire in three weeks, the pharmacist said it would last up to 3 months and probably longer if frozen, BUT it may deteriorate more quickly if alternately frozen and thawed.

Re: Trimix Experiences
And maybe that's really the issue. They say don't freeze because perhaps freezing and thawing repeatedly means it deteriorates more rapidly?
Well by the end my trimix was certainly over 3 months old.
I've read others around here say 6 months properly refrigerated on theirs.
But now we're comparing mono and bi with tri ... I need to compare tri with tri.

Flipster... How many times did you inject and get no results? Are you sure your needle placement was good before pushing the plunger down? I think it slowly starts to degrade over time but shouldn't just lose its potency and turn off like a light switch. My pharmacy insisted I keep the majority of my Trimix in the freezer. I was given 5 2ml vials of and keep all but one in the freezer. 3 or 4 units(a few drops) is my usual dosage. My first dose of 10 units gave me a 5 hour erection with me taking 120mg at the 3.5 hour mark.

I use Quad mix and keep the vials in the freezer. I have had these vials for more than 12 months and the mix still works great. I typically fill syringes when I travel and place them in a stainless steel Thermos bottle with ice and have had no problem with mixture overheating. The Thermos is the best thing I have to travel with. I have been injecting for 14 years so there has been a lot trial and error.

I have some Feb 2018 30-1-20 Tri-Mix; got 4 vials. One in fridge and the others in freezer until the fridge vial was replaced. Down to one now. It still works well. Not cloudy. Also have some March 2018 60mcg/ml PGE1. Four vials, all but one frozen. Down to one now. No issues there when used. Not cloudy.

Re: Trimix Experiences
Bob - how many times? Just the one time. If the same dosage that "worked" for 10 hours the first time did zero, zip, nada, I figured it was toast.
I'll admit, I did not test a lot. 5 or 6 times. I remember trying 0.05 and having a good 6 or so hour erection, and .03 having more reasonable results a couple of times. Later .03 did much less, but enough. Then I didn't try it for a couple of months even though it traveled with me a few times. I TRIED to keep it cool, but I'm sure that it spent a several hours at room temperature three or so times.
What I'm thinking of doing is freezing about 2/3 of it and keeping 1/3 of it in the fridge. If it goes kaput, I'll get some of the frozen out and maybe take half of that, and re-freeze the rest.
We're not super active. But when we want to, I want it to work.

I have the same issue. I have been using Trimix 40/30/2 for almost 2 years now and 3-4 units gives me about 3 hours of erection. I found a simple way to “deflate” my penis after sex (see my post.)
As far as how long Trimix last: my first vile lasted way over 16 months without losing potency.
As far as traveling: I travelled many times with Trimix and just did my best to keep it cool with ice packs and and refrigeration in hotels. Never had issues.
All the best!

Re: Trimix Experiences
One man's experience:
Froze my trimix, thawed it out once a week or so, filled 3 or 4 syringes. Refroze the vial but kept the syringes in the fridge, not the freezer.
My injection log shows a 10 ml vial lasting as long as five months. My dosage was the same at the end as at the beginning, meaning no loss in potency.
Once took a one-week vacation in which the only cooling for my syringes was a Frio sitting on top a bureau in a room-temperature environment. The juice worked fine. Several other successful trips with the Frio pouch. (If you do a search for Frio on this site, you'll find several satisfied users.)
