I've done a good bit of web searching trying to get some idea how often it's neccesary to inject to avoid penile atrophy. I don't really feel like doing it every other day, or even 3 times a week as I've read. I take 50mg of viagra on the non-injection days, which doesn't have any noticeable effect, as instructed. But I was wondering if any of you guys have been told by your doc or found online what the minimum requirement is for rehab purposes. Sometimes I just don't have the time due to work and sometimes I just don't feel like having an erection for an hour or so.

Hi Steve- Yes, I was wondering the same thing, what is the best rehab path to make sure Willie stays in good operational condition ?. It does take planning and time to pull off the injection and the after effect, I am trying to keep it between 1-2 hrs and take care of business at night with no other distractions.

Not more often than every other day. Every three days is better. Two days in a row is acceptable if you don't do it this way very often.

Different for everyone but I try to do twice a week. Takes some planning and I am now getting some action from Viagra so have started to do daily half doses.

I am surely the Poster Boy for chemical penile rehabbing. I am using some form of PGE-1 or Trimix every day of the week and have been doing so for about 6 months now. I usually use 300mcg PGE-1 every night at bedtime -- splooshed in urethrally so no scarring or anything like that and although not a 100% hard --anywhere from 50-90% -- plenty of blood flow for sure. Then every other morning or so I go for the Trimix injection.

So that's about as intense as one could get in rehabbing. Willie seems to be healthy and happy, but I can't really say that spontaneous E's have been occurring or nerves waking up yet. Of course any nightime E's are being masked over by all the rehabbing so I wouldn't know for sure if it was natural or just leftover PGE-1 talking.

But will keep an eye out for any natural improvements (at nearly 3 years out now post-Prost surgery).

Jim, I hope to overtake you in the poster boy of chemical rehab contest! I will publish here my sudden and rapid recovery after 3 years of ED once I think it has about levelled out.

I asked my doc yesterday how often I need to inject to avoid the atrophy situation. He said in my case, because I respond so well to injection drugs (low dosages) I'd be fine shooting up a minimum of once per week and as usual, a maximum of 3 times per week.

Once you post your ED recovery story, I think the rest of us injectors shoul post our stories as well and than we can vote to see who really should be the poster boy.

June 2008 prostate surgery.
ED almost total despite "nerve sparing" and despite trying Viagra, Cialis and Levitra over 3 years.
September 2011 bimix injections - failed
October 2011 trimix 1.5ml 100%, weekly shots for 1.5 hour erection time
December 2011 trimix 1.0ml 100%, twice weekly shots, getting 2.5 - 3.5 hour erection time.
End of December, started viagra 100mg for 90% erect between injection days
January 23, 2012 trimix 0.65ml 100%, now using Viagra 50mg between injection days for 95% erect.

I am obviously confident that my ED recovery 3.5 years out will be almost total, a huge change of outlook in 3 months for this very unhappy chappy! I think that consistency of injecting technique has been important. I think trimix is like jet fuel! I think twice weekly has accelerated the rehab and the viagra between injection days has helped the process and maybe the sensitivity to injections.
