First injection with uro! Trimix 30-1-10

Got lucky with a cancellation so in I went, a month earlier than scheduled. :))) Uro showed me each step and performed the injection at 3 o'clock position, about an inch or two up from the base. He said anywhere along the middle line before the head, is fine.

Trimix 30-1-10 = Trimix Regular

Papaverine 30mg/ml
Phentolamine 1mg/ml
Prostaglandin 10mcg/ml
In 5ml vial (Bacteriostatic inj water)

He filled and injected 12 units from a BD Ultrafine II
1/2mL syringe
8mm length (5/16")
30 Gauge

It was completely painless. He did a quick push in and immediately pressed plunger down 'til Trimix was all out. Split second.
Erection started in about 5 minutes and by 10 minutes he was 85% hard, most suitable and I can imagine him getting harder and longer with stimulation. Doctor confirmed it would.

Lasted about 30 minutes, lying down several times too. He said I can take it up 15 units if not satisfied with 1/2 hour and then if still not satisfied with quality and length of time, I can increase the following injections by 5 units so, 15-20-25 etc...

I'm going to go to 15 units with the wife on Friday and see how he performs. Any thoughts guys? Even as to the Trimix strength, is it a low dose or pretty standard? What do you think of my condition having a 1/2 hour erection with no stimulation on 30-1-10?

Congratulations. That looks to be a pretty standard starter formula and you're getting good results. To be on the safe side have some regular strength Sudafed on hand before trying a larger dose in case your erection lasts too long. Also alternate injection sides to avoid Peyronie's.

Congratulations, it sounds like a pretty successful test run. A half hour would be a bit short lived for my tastes so personally I'd up it a bit. You will have to experiment to find what works best for you. You may end up wanting a stronger mix so you can keep your dose volume low but 12 to 20 units is certainly not a large volume by any stretch. Take it slow and enjoy the journey. Your mix sounds like a standard mix. Not the lowest but not strong either. It sounds like you're pretty close to the correct strength and dose. Good guess by the doctor it would seem.

Thank you fellahs. :) Yes, half an hour is short. I would like at least an hour to incorporate everything and be hard when needed, immediately, but will go with 15 units and see what the extra, wifey stimulation, does for me. 8-)

So I started with .25 and it worked but not as hard as I wanted and only lasted about half hour. I went to .50 and it was much better lasted about an hour but wasn’t as hard as it was before my prostatectomy in November 2018. Getting nervous going too high. Does anyone have any advise. Thanks.

I noticed dark purple bruising about the size of a stamp at injection site. No pain or discomfort, I was washing in shower and saw it. Is this typical and expected most times? A week or more to clear up or a few days?

The volume of the injections you're using is pretty meaningless without knowing the actual mix of the meds. 50 units is getting on the high side but certainly not unheard of. A single dose of Edex and possibly Caverject comes in 1ml as in 100 U-100 units. So let me repeat. Without knowing the mix the volume is meaningless.

It is not typical but not unusual. It could be that a small vein got run through with the needle. Or it could be that not enough compression was used on the injection site after injecting or perhaps for not long enough. If you're on a lot of blood thinners it could be a more common occurrence. It should diminish rapidly and be gone in a few days. Remember, I'm not a medical professional of any kind and your doctor should be consulted on all medical issues as I don't know squat.

You know what, bldoink? My uro never told me to compress and he didn’t after administrating the shot. I never thought of it until I saw the bruise this morning. I WILL remember when doing all injections, myself. No blood thinners per se but I do take a daily baby aspirin. Thank you.

Always consult your doctor and follow his/her advice and instructions.

This is taken from the Edex information sheet (Near the bottom):
Edex Prescribing Information Sheet wrote:18. Withdraw needle from penis. Immediately apply firm but gentle pressure with the alcohol swab to the injection site for five minutes to prevent bruising (Figure O). Continue to apply firm pressure until bleeding stops. If bleeding continues or recurs after applying pressure, abstain from intercourse.

Full Edex Prescribing Information Sheet (Actually I think this PDF is a combination of both the Prescribing and Patient information sheets but I could be wrong.): http://www.endo.com/File%20Library/Products/Prescribing%20Information/edex_prescribing_information.html
Just in case you're unaware, Edex is one of the name brand versions of a Mono-mix containing only the alprostadil (PGE-1) ingredient of Tri-mix. Alprostadil is usually the most effective component of the Tri-mix but also the ingredient most likely to cause pain. Edex and it's name brand competitors are also quite expensive if not covered by insurance. The injection protocol should be the same as for tri-mix which is why I'm posting these instructions as an example.

PS: I never apply pressure for the full five minutes as instructed. I go for 2 to 3 tops except on the very, very rare occasion I accidentally drill a vein. I never could follow instructions very well and I generally won't risk my man card by reading them.

Good luck.
