I hope my post helps others experiencing priapism, or who cannot use a dosage of Bimix/Trimix strong enough to enable them to achieve the quality of erection they desire without the possibility of experiencing priapism.
I do not recommend that my process by attempted by anyone without a strong, healthy heart. If, after reading my post, you have any questions, please talk to your doctor. And always proceed cautiously with any activity that seems a bit extreme.
---------------
I've used both Trimix and Bimix. To achieve a really good erection for long enough (at least 2 hours), I have always had to use enough of either product that I can't get rid of my erections. This is a problem almost every time I use either product which is generally 2 to 3 times per week.
My ED physician has always recommended ice to interrupt my erections. It doesn't work. It makes my erections harder and last longer. I've had to have my penis aspirated 3 times because I could not get rid of an erection. (The first aspiration occurred during my initial test of my response to Trimix in the physician's office from a 15 unit injection. He remarked about how well I responded to Trimix.) Ice did not work for any of those 3 incidents.
One night, when nearing the 4 hour mark after the start of an erection, my wife suggested we get into our small spa to see if heat would help. I was skeptical but did anyway, since the alternative was going to be another visit to the E.R.
So, we got into the spa and I turned the spa's temperature up to 105 F. I placed by groin in front of the vent of heated water and after about 20 minutes, my erection began to subside. We got out and about 30 minutes later, I got into the spa again for another 20 minute session. It worked. Erection gone.
I have had 100% success getting rid of erections using this technique. I once had to use it in a hotel room when my wife and I were out of town on a short vacation. I filled the bath tub with water as hot as I could stand it, then slipped into the water, placed my groin directly underneath the water spigot, turned the water on as hot as I could stand it, and waited. In about 30 minutes, no erection.
I've thought about this procedure and discussed it with my PCP (Primary Care Physician).
The use of ice/cold is used for swelling due to injury when the body's lymph system is mobilized to deal with an injury. I don't think ice/cold is appropriate for a penis engorged with blood. It's not an injury.
To get rid of my erections, I need for my blood vessels to dilate, to release the Bimix/Trimix that is trapped in my penis. Heat seems to be the obvious answer and it works.
In the process of getting my groin really hot, I am also heating up my whole body. This raises my pulse and lowers my blood pressure, a condition a normal, healthy, older man can tolerate – up to a point.
WARNING: My PCP cautioned me to be careful doing this. Here's the warning: A person's diastolic pressure (the low number in their blood pressure readings) generally should not go below 60. If it does, a person can experience diastolic heart failure. The reason for this is that the heart relaxes and fills with oxygenated blood when it rests. If the diastolic pressure is too low, the heart muscle will not be able to receive enough oxygenated blood to effectively pump blood to the body on it's power stroke.
The first symptom of diastolic low blood pressure would be that a person would be very light headed with extreme weakness. To counter these symptoms: get away from all heat sources, bend over, put your head between your knees, and allow your body to recover until your light headedness is mostly gone. Stay cool and lower your body temperature.
The next symptom of diastolic low blood pressure is that a person would pass out, probably leading to death. Survival: If someone can assist them, they should lay the victim down on his back and raise his feet to let gravity draw more blood to heart and the brain. Also, cool the victim. Call 911.
Those were my doctor's warnings and instructions.
I never fear that I am going to die doing this process. In the last year, I've done it over 100 times. I'm only telling you what my PCP said.
My “heat process” for eliminating erections works 100% but it may not be the right solution for everyone. I have a very strong heart conditioned by 40,000-50,000 miles (decades) of running when I was younger, plus I grew up in Texas and I can tolerate a LOT of heat. However, I am not immune to my PCP's warning and I took it seriously.
After talking to my PCP, I again used this process to get rid of an erection and checked my blood pressure immediately after I got out of the spa. It was too low, about 88/55. I noticed by pulse rate; it was appropriately 160 bpm. I was weak and light headed (which I don't mind) but I don't go to such extremes anymore.
When my pulse is nearing 150 bpm, it's time for me to get out of the spa. I've checked my blood pressure and it's usually in the 90+/60+ range which is not dangerous for me, and I feel better. However, I may not have stayed in the spa's hot water long enough to eliminate my erection. If not, I cool off, 30-60 minutes, and get back in the spa for another session. I never over-do this.
After getting out of the spa, I feel a little weak but the experience wears off in about 30 minutes, and as a side effect, I've sweated out a lot of salt and toxins, that I otherwise would not have. I actually feel really good and my body feels “clean” for lack of a better way to describe it. I feel pleasantly tired and I sleep well.
I've tried heated pads on my groin. They do nothing. Maybe I didn't use them for a long enough period of time. But using them is work, as someone has to keep heating them. I just use our spa. If I didn't have spa, I'd use the bathtub.
My admonition to others is to always proceed with reasonable caution about anything related to your health, especially us older men, and especially any activity that might seem, or be categorized as, “extreme”.
