Allegedly the injection works for the doc but not me

Hey guys, really hoping one of you can provide me with some inside. I'm a 38 year-old quadriplegic and I've suffered from EDD pretty much since my injury. At least I had issues the first time I tried to have sex as a quad which was after a significant injury to my urethra at the age of 17. My problem is that I've always been able to get directions that are caused by stimulation though not by thought. Problem is that go away as soon as I start having sex or get stimulated by a handjob or blowjob. Pills have not worked and I am now on super trimix with little success. I get an erection but it's bendy and not really useful especially if the woman is on top which is always the case given my situation. I'm not trying to break my dick and my partner is burnt out at this point on trying and failing. A lot of emotional disappointment. What's blowing my mind is that when I have gone to the doctor and he has done the injection he reports that my erection is as strong as I could hope for then I should have no problems having sex. When I get home and do the same dose with my partner it is still middle of the road and bendy. What could we be doing wrong? I know the needle is going into the Corpus cavernosa because I do get an erection and sometimes it lasts for 6 or 7 hours. The quality is what is lacking. Not the duration. How could it be that he is getting a completely different result? Could he be exaggerating the effectiveness of the drug? I can't feel my dick so I have to rely on his reporting back to me. Two or three times now my girlfriend and I have started getting hot and heavy with the expectation of certain success because of his reporting only for me to get a flat before we are even a quarter of way through the session after having never had my tires completely aired up to begin with. I have not been sexually active almost at all in the last 20 years and I'm wondering if that amount of inactivity has caused damage somehow. The doctor is saying that everything looks good after having done a ultrasound and tells me that there is no venous leakage. Any ideas on what the issue might be? Would using a pump daily rehabilitate my penile tissues and possibly make for a stronger erection? Many questions I know but I am desperate at this point because I don't want to go under the knife. Thank you in advance
