Protaglandin E1 trouble

I am 14 months post prostate removal with nerve-sparing. I have been getting more and firmer morning erections even on mornings where have not taken the shot or sildenafil the night before. One was even a 9 out of 10. I had a problem with the injection last night. I took a couple of advil a couple of hours before. The insertion of the needle was painful the whole time it was in my penis. Unlike previous ones that were only just a prick when I first inserted the needle. My erection was painful and it lasted for much longer than usual. I used ice and Pseudoephedrine to get it to go down. I am still using the same dose of 19-20 on the insulin syringe. What could have caused this?

Might not have been in the perfect spot. I'm guessing the depth was off, possibly too deep. I wouldn't get too concerned over one less than perfect injection. It sounds like you might be able to back off a tad on your dose.

I just spoke with my urologist and he said he cannot explain the pain but the extended erection is because my nerves are healing. He suggested I back my protaglandin dose down to 10 units instead of 20.

I believe sometimes the needle hits a nerve which causes the pain.
After five or six injections, I was able to slowly reduce my effective dosage from 45 units down to 15 units. My doc advised that the the increased blood flow into the penis may have rehabilitated some of the damaged tissue inside the penis which allowed me to generate effective erections doses.
