I seem to remember a few posts that indicated that a cock ring should be used for a fairly short amount of time (30 min or so)? If so, why is this?

a cock ring prevents the outflow of blood, which prevents the inflow of oxygen carrying new blood, so you kill the muscle due to lack of O2..
