Getting more from Caverject / Alprostadil / Viridal / Edex injections

I’m always on the lookout for anything (safe) that will help me get better results from my Alprostadil, which in my case is the Viridal duo. Hopefully this thread may also provoke some input from others on the subject.

In the past I have tried combining sildenafil or Levitra with Alprostadil (which alone do zero for me) and intend to try the other PDE5 inhibitors in the future too. Currently I have found about 10mg of Levitra gives me another hour or so from a dose of Alprostadil whereas the sildenafil seemed to do nothing.

I will take this opportunity to share with everybody something I recently found out by complete mistake. As well as Erectly Disfunction I’m unfortunate to also have fairly bad hay fever for which I take Antihistamine tablets, in the case of mine the main ingredient is cetirizine hydrochloride 10mg.
What I found was if I do my dose of Alprostadil within an hour or so of taking the Antihistamines the time my erection lasts double the time, yes double I have no idea at all why this is and have tried to find information to study but very little seems to exist out there. The only thing I have managed to find on the subject so far is on page 93 of a Nurses Handbook (link below) which covers interactions with Alprostadil.

Of course I’m not suggesting anyone else tries this as I can’t vouch for its safety!!

Does it "always" work? What other effects do you get? How many times have you tried this? etc... ?

Have done it twice only with the same result, the first time was rather frightening as it lasted 6 hours! compared to my previous 3. So next time I halved my dose and still achieved 3 hours. Since I then I have tried halving the dose on at least 2 occasions (without antihistamine) and got only 1 and a half hours not 3!

So much as you can I tried to ensure other factors weren't affecting the results.

That’s some interesting points, I found by mistake Ibuprofen the night before a injection gives me a solid dick. Think it’s because it’s a vasodilator and must get better wood while sleeping. Careful with Ibuprofen anyone with health conditions though....Cheers

Tried one of my wife's antihistaminics yesternight, can't say there was any serious effect on my injection.
We'll try a few more times before jumping to conclusions tho.

Patrick27... Interesting about your reaction to ibuprofen the night before injection. Have read on the site previously that it could dull sensitivity. I daily take 2 Advil after breakfast to arrest mid day headaches caused by my NPH. Will now switch to taking the Advil the night before next day injection. Usually have morning wood 50% of the time but we'll see if that improves. Thank you for your post.

Yes very interesting about the Ibuprofen, although is it correct that it isn't very nice to ones insides used on a regular basis?

Here's an odd one to add to the mix, an acquaintance of mine thinks that eating beetroot before injecting increases the effectiveness of his Alprostadil a lot, I haven't tried it personally as I hate the taste of the stuff

Dickie..have been using the ibuprofen daily for the last 9 years. Began using 8 per day for about the first year after NPH surgery and gradually weaning lower. Have been informed about its danger..but had no choice to keep a good quality of life. So far so good...but wish I wouldn't need it but 2 per day makes for a pleasant day. Never heard of using beetroot but Alprostadil does all I need it to do.
