painful injection- what am I doing wrong
painful injection- what am I doing wrong
I had my first injection at doctors office. It was very painful. He told me to shoot up near the base of penis and to stretch it a little when I inject. The first time I tried it on my own I could not even complete the shot because it was so painful. When the needle first goes in there is only a mild prick but then I hit what seems like a brick wall and the doctor told me to push through it all the way in. That is the part that is extremely painful. From reading others post most make it seem that the injection is not painful at all. Am I doing something wrong? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Yeah, I don't like to go too close to the base. It seems there's other stuff there you have to drill through and there is more pain. I go more for closer to the mid point and sometimes even further towards the head as comfort allows. I do try to move around so I don't drill the same spot continually. But yeah, too close to the base hurts.
As for actually injecting the juice, as in depressing the plunger, I find that depressing in little pulses over a minute or so alleviates the pain from actually pushing the meds in.
On the other hand, if depressing the plunger is difficult and painful, then you probably aren't in the correct spot. Your depth is likely off. You could be too deep but more likely not deep enough. Play with the depth a bit. Sometimes I have to push deep to puncture the tunica and then back off before depressing the plunger.
Good luck.

Re: painful injection- what am I doing wrong
john88: bldoink is right, if there's significant pain and/or resistance to the plunger, you're in the wrong place; pull out and try another spot. The tunica (sheath around a corpus cavernosum) has no nerves and can be penetrated painlessly. It shouldn't feel like a brick wall; if it does, you're in the wrong place. When you're through it, there's suddenly no resistance to further penetration and you stop there. Once you're in it, the plunger should have no more resistance than when it's in air. I then take about 15 seconds to inject the dose. If you have a thin penis, the corpus cavernosums will be thin and hard to line up with the needle. Mine are only a little thicker than a pencil. To add to the difficulty, my right one is not at the "3-o'clock" position; it's at about "1.30" (the left one is at "9-o'clock," where it's supposed to be.) I find that I can find a corpus by squeezing above and below with my thumb and second finger, pushing the corpus sideways. I then can feel the corpus with the thumb and first finger of my other hand. When I started Trimix, after a few successes I found that pulling the penis out a little (you almost need another hand!) helped my aim. Later I decided that pulling it to its full length would minimize scar tissue formation. The other initial problem I discovered was dosage asymmetry; one corpus needed 10% less Trimix than the other, leading to too much duration a couple times, a little over 4 hours, so you might want to stick with one side at first. Don't be alarmed by a little blood coming out the pee-hole; it means you punctured the urethra but I never had any consequences, it seems to heal in minutes and we have sex immediately as usual.
I find the 31 gauge needles less painful than the 30 gauge. I use the 5/16in=8mm length. Average or thick penises might need the 1/2in=13mm length.

Re: painful injection- what am I doing wrong
The pain I went through the last year using Trimix was almost horrible! It seems like as time went on things grew worse and worse. I could not figure out what I was doing wrong because I had used Trimix for several years. My wife was a nurse and she would draw up my injection and inject me before we had sex. My experiences grew worse and worse. I would have so much pain in my penis after injecting Trimix. I finally decided there has to be a better answer for having sex than injecting Trimix. I started to act on my research for an implant and made an appointment for a consult with my Urologist. My wife went with me and I made an appointment for surgery after the first of the year. Hindsight, I could not believe that I went through as much pain as I did. Since January 9,2020 I have had great results and would highly recommend an implant over shots of Trimix. This is a better way!

Martin6469 : Thanks for the advice, very informative. I knew something had to be wrong. I will give it a try using your technique.
