Ordered Trimix. Worried about peyronies. What are the chances?

Hi all. First post.

I'm 42. Considering Trimix because other measures seem to be failing. Actually my Trimix should arrive in a few days by mail... My docs told me to start with 5 units. But I'm reading scary stories about men developing peyronies while supposedly doing injections the right way... Is that a real risk? Does that only happen with men who's prostate was removed? Mine is still there. Is there ways to make sure peyronies doesn't happen? Is that permanent? Does it cure on it's own? I'm actually thinking of canceling my order...

I'm aware of the risk of priapism as well but I'm not so worried of that since I'll have the antidote injectable (forgot the name) and there Sudafed.

But hearing stories of peyronies makes me think twice...

You're doctor is a urologist? They'll be checking you for early signs of Peyronies?

Like most things there is some risk. The last time I researched it it was not high risk. I've been a dick sticker for near 10 years and I'm doing fine. I use mono-mix, AKA straight alprostadil. Listen to your doctor. This site has become largely a site for the implant guys. Obviously those that get implanted were dissatisfied with injections for some reason. Don't let the bad experiences scare you. They are the minority.

No, it's remote consultations with "Defy Medical", a clinic that treats with Testosterone replacement therapy etc. I don't think I have any peyronies whatsoever right now.

Is the risk of peyronies lower with Caverject vs Trimix?

Caverject is straight alprostadil, well alprostadil and saline or bacteriostatic water. Edex is pretty much the same stuff made by a competitor. I was using Edex but switched to a mono-mix of alprostadil in saline from a compounding pharmacy. It may be a bit difficult to find a compounder capable and willing to make an alprostadil mono-mix. My mix is much stronger (80 mcg per ml) than the proprietary Caverject or Edex (10, 20, or 40 mcg per ml) so I don't have to inject so much volume. All three of the aforementioned options are basically the same stuff.

My previous research suggested that the risk of scaring or peyronies from alprostadil was much less than that of the other ingredients of tri-mix. However, the last research I read suggested that alprostidal was not as risk free as previous research had suggested. No, I can't link the research off hand, sorry. I think the consensus is still that alprostadil is the lowest risk. So there appears to be at least some risk from all of the tri-mix ingredients. I still feel straight alprostadil by one of the 3 aforementioned methods is the safest route, but I'm not even remotely a medical professional or scientist.

Alprostadil does appear to have the greatest risk of causing a pain or ache side effect as compared to the other ingredients of tri-mix. Some men just can't tolerate the drug. Other, myself included, initially experienced the pain side effect but found it reduced and eventually disappeared with continued use. I only experience pain now if I inject my strong mix too quickly. I inject in several slow pulses over a minute or two. Of course some guys don't have any pain issues with alprostadil.

If possible I'd suggest you try and find a good urologist. Post your location and maybe you'll luck out and someone can recommend one for your location. Another option is to call some local compounding pharmacies that compound dick sticking meds and ask for names of some local doctors that prescribe the stuff. Note that most pharmacies are not compounding pharmacies and most compounding pharmacies are not certified to make injectable drugs like mono-mix, bi-mix, tri-mix, quad-mix or even penta-mix. If you talk to the pharmacist at any pharmacy they "should" be able to point you towards the compounding pharmacies. I have several compounding pharmacies near me but I have to travel almost 30 miles to get to one that can make the injection drugs. So get to work and start researching.

I have read that the chance of Peyronies from injections is under10%. To avoid Peyronies it is recommended to inject not more than every other day, rotate sides, and avoid injecting near previous injection sites.

When I started injecting Trimix after Viagra started to fail, my uro recommended starting at 25 mg and increase by 5 mg dose until you achieve the preferred erection.

My experience wasn’t a fluke! It was real! In started losing length month by month! I wish I had acted sooner than I did. I started seeing signs and did not want to believe it. My urologist told me eight times you need an implant because my dick would no longer work. It was a hard decision but hindsight I feel like I could have saved some of my length if I had acted sooner. Just my opinion. Listen to your urologist. They see this everyday. I can’t go back and add length now but I wish I had acted months before I finally decided to act.

Were you losing length due to trimix injections? Is that very common?

I've been injecting Trimix for 2 1/2 years, about 150 times, and I have no distortion. I basically use dtwarren1942's technique. I have three posts of my injection method details in the "Injections" thread. It's a little tricky but you can do it.

My urologist recommends a combination of sildenafil (generic Viagra) and Trimix; this way you use half as much Trimix, but it's prescription only so you have to see a doc.

Could you provide post links to your posts with your injection methods? Or copy-paste them here? I couldn't find them.
