Injections in doctor's office don't work but Cialis sorta does?

Has anyone experienced injections not working in the doctor's office, but Cialis partially working? I went to the doctor a few weeks ago for a penile doppler/ultrasound and they injected me twice with no result. Literally totally flaccid. I waited about 15 mins after each one, and tried standing versus sitting and masturbating. I was pretty nervous and the shots were more painful than expected, so maybe that was the reason?

I can get a maybe 50-60% erection, just strong enough for sex, at home if I take 5mg Cialis but my erection only a few minutes. I also get 50/60% morning wood some of the time. Bumping up to 10mg Cialis doesn't really improve things, and I start to get concerning side effects (ringing in the ears being the biggest).

I'm disappointed they weren't able to do the ultrasound. I'm pretty sure I have a venous leak, but I wanted the ultrasound confirmation before considering more aggressive treatments. I'm wondering if it's worth repeating? Any tips on getting the shots to work in the doctors office?

I had almost the exact same thing happen to me. Injected before Doppler, got a nice chubby but no real erection. I was taken to the ultrasound room for test. The tech was a 30 something gorgeous blond woman, one would think that should help with hard on!
I told her before she pulled back the hospital gown I wasn’t very hard. She said ok let’s see!
She pulled back gown and squeezed my cock lightly and said that’s fine as she held my cock head straight up and started the exam with ultrasound probe. Yes I had mild venous leak.
I later went to an ED clinic in another city, told them my story and they said many times urologist do not use a strong enough mixture of Trimix. They said they would inject me with their blend and they felt strongly I would get hard.
Hard is not accurate....it got like steel! It felt great to be that hard again, and it was hard over two hours, nearly 3! I think the formula your urologist used, even though you got two doses wasn’t right for you. But that’s only my opinion based on what I was told and my experience.

Thanks, glad to hear it wasn't just me. Did your diagnosis of the mild venous leak change with the second ultrasound? My diagnosis was "significant arterial insufficiency", which I'm a little skeptical of since that's rare in younger men and I have no other problems (diabetes or overweight). Maybe it was just because of nervousness or a bad mix. I'll probably try another urologist and see if I can get a doppler with a full erection.

I don't know what the issue was but with the shot being "more painful than expected" I have to wonder if they injected correctly. If you're not one of those that reacts badly to one of the ingredients the injection shouldn't cause more than just minor pain.
