Worst thing that can happen with injections?

Hi guys,

Been lurking posts for a while. I am seriously looking at injections. My ED relatively bad but I am scared the injections might make things even worse, if it ends up piercing through things its not supposed to?

What is the worst thing that can happen with an injection shot? Could you cause irreversible damage if the fluid doesn't end up in the erectile tissue? What if it hits the urethra by mistake?? Could I have issue urinating? I don't want to have to deal with other problems as a result of this. I know that fibrosis is a long term risk but what are basically things that CAN go wrong when getting a shot?

Would love to get some thoughts.

Thank you,

Limplife

My doc told me if you hit a vein rather than erectile tissue, you'll just get a hematoma that will go away with time but probably need to abstain from sex for the night.

The worst realistic thing that can happen is getting a priapism- that is, an erection lasting for more than 4 hours. You absolutely must go to the emergency room, but they will be able to deflate your erection. Your doctor will teach you how to work up starting with a small dosage so you don't accidentally start with a priapism-inducing dose.

You're worrying too much. I've drilled a vein which can cause a bit of bleeding and a bruise. I've drilled my urethra which results in a failed lift off and some mix came out my urethra. I suppose you could drill and damage a major nerve but you'd just about have to do that on purpose as you don't inject there. If you inject in the wrong spot, especially if you ignore the signals that should tell you you're in the wrong spot, you can cause a lump and ache and failed lift off but that will eventually go away. I really can't think of any other reasonable concerns.

Really there isn't much you can do wrong other than inject in the wrong place and not get an erection. If you get a prescription from a doctor they should show you where to inject, and usually the doc will try one injection to see if it works. From there the doc will adjust your dosage and mix strength, and tell you how much to increase if needed. If you get a good erection that won't go down take 5-6 doses of Sudafed. Better than going to the ER.

I was scared before I started injections. However, once I started, I realized it was the best solution for my ED, even better than Viagra. Unfortunately, my ED worsened and it started to loose its effectiveness after three years.

I gave myself the injections for about four years until I started developing hard places on both sides of my penis. They seemed to develop almost overnight. I discovered them all the sudden on both sides of my penis exactly where I had given the injections. No one ever told me this was even a possibility. I then pointed them out to my Urologist and he confirmed they were from the injections. My first thought was why didn’t somEone tell me about the side effects of injections too the penis.oh well now I know. The next step was an implant.

As stated, the worst thing that can happen is ending up in the ER with a raging erection and watching a nurse stick a larger needle in it to drain the blood out. If you follow your uro's directions and start with low doses and work up if you need to, you will be just fine. In my case I started at 20 units which gave me a steel towel rack but also aching in my cock. I worked my way DOWN in doses to 10 units for a good 2 to 3 hour erection. 5 units will give me a boner for 45 minutes to an hour which works for sex with the wife or going solo.

Welcome to the forum and don't worry so much. Have fun.

Your urologist will be able to teach you how to inject safely. He/she will also teach you what issues to look out for and what to do about them.

It’s not difficult to do. The injectable medications are miracle drugs for a lot of us. I’m really grateful they exist.

Talk with your doctor.

The past wednesday, a doctor extracted blood from my penis due to a erection produced by a penis exam (TAC) and now, I have a little lump in the point where the doctor extracted the blood... it seems he made it.

This lump could not alow me to get a good erection?
