I had a scary episode yesterday with my first shot. Got the shot at the doctor's office at around 3pm. Stayed in the doctor's office until 3:45 with an extremely hard dick. It's important to note that he gave me .2 Units or 20 Units (i think I'm saying it right) of Trimix which us supposed to be the weakest mixture (30/1/10). At 3:30 before I left the doctor's office, I went in the bathroom and masturbated. I thought that would help it subside but my penis got even harder. I left, got something to eat at the drive though, and went home. Still hard I ate a small meal and was still hard. I called the doctor at 4:45 (he closes at 5pm) and told him I was still raging hard. He told me to put an ice pack on it and take 4 pills of Sudafed but didn't say the milligrams. The ice pack didn't work and I went and bought the generic version of Sudafed with Phenylephrine in it. Each pill was 10 mgs. I took 24....yes.....TWENTY FOUR PILLS over the course of 2 hours and nothing at all. I was still hard. I went to the park and walked around for about 30 mins and nothing. I ran a few sprints in front of my house and nothing...still hard. I took hot and cold showers and still nothing. I started to panic around the 4 hour mark and came to this forum. I saw where someone said that Phenylephrine does absolutely nothing but you need to take the Sudafed with Pseudoephedrine and you get that from behind the pharmacy so I went to the pharmacy and told the guy that I've had an erection for 4 hours and that I needed the Sudafed with Pseudoephedrine. He told me that I needed to go to the ER but gave me the Sudafed anyway. I started to pop them like candy. Each one was 30 mgs. I made the trip to the ER around 8pm, which was about 5 hours into the episode. All the while, I was still popping the Sudafed like a person having a heart attack would start popping aspirin tablets. The doc came in after a while and I started to go soft but very slowly. I dint think I've ever been that hard in my life. Way better than the best erection I ever had that I can remember. Oh yea, I failed to mention that I masturbated 5 times before I went to the ER and after 5 ejaculations nothing worked. While I was in the ER, I told the doctor that I took 24 generic Sudafed tablets with Phenylephrine and I had just finished taking 18 tablets of Sudafed that was 30 mgs each of Pseudoephedrine. I was starting to go soft as he talked to me. I knew that because I'm able to test my hardness by how much I can bend my penis and with the shot, it was like a piece of iron and steel. I couldn't bend my penis at all since the shot but while he was talking to me, the 30 mgs tablets of Sudafed started to kick in and I was able to start bending my penis. 10 mins later I had a 50% erection and was discharged. During this process I called my woman and told her just about everything. I went to her house after and we laid around talking. We tried to have sex but my penis was a gummy worm for about 3 hours. Later around 11pm I was able to get a 75% and have sex. Needless to say I ejaculated 6 times that day.

I want to make this point: 1. ALWAYS HAVE SUDAFED ON HAND.....ALWAYS. The doctor only gave me 20 units of Trimix which isn't suppose to be alot and I had a woody for over 6 hours. I think what saved damage (i dont think i have any damage) is I would sometimes fluctuate from 100% hard to like 90% hard and that small decrease allowed some blood to circulate in and out of my penis. There were times that the head of my penis was cool to the touch but it never stayed that way for long and my entire penis was never cold....just the glands. The head would fluctuate from warm to cool. Im a thankful man and very very thankful to this website and you guys for your posting because had I not read about the Sudafed my penis would probably be a goner!

Since my ED is psychological, I'm now wondering should I drop down to 10 units or go to Bimix or something. It was a scary moment nonetheless.

Any tips you guys could give me moving forward would be greatly appreciated. So much for my first shot!

I'm sorry you had such a dramatic trial shot.
At least you know the stuff works on you
I suspect he gave you a 20 units or .2ml dose.
I don't think you hurt your dick but try not to make a habit of 5 plus hour erections.
In your case I think I'd try 4 units or .04ml next time. Note the decimal placement.
It's better to start conservatively and work up.
It very much sounds like you would be much better off with the 3/10cc or 30 unit U-100 Insulin syringes.
You didn't complain of great pain so I'd stick with the tri-mix or even an alprostadil mono-mix.
That may be the weakest mix available from your pharmacy. Like I said, try the 4 units if the doctor agrees.
But ask your doctor.

I'm surprised that the doc gave you 20 units for the first shot, especially for psychogenic ED. Mine started with 10 on the same mix and then took a guess at which dose would work well. Ask the doc what to do next. Might be best to try 5 and see what happens. You don't want another priapism.

I would never use anything else then monomix if i only had psychogenic ED.

Thanks so much guys. I think since me gave me 20 units, I'd do no more than 10 units next time...maybe even 8 units to be safe.

ALL my nerves were removed during an RP and I would stay hard for 3 hrs with 6 units of 8.75-30-1. That is a lower script than you have. Doc gave me 30 units to start. I went directly to a pharmacy to get the Sudafed. Scared the hell out of me. Started a soften at 4 hrs. You should try just 4 units next time.

Sorry to hear about you priapism. I know that used to be my biggest worry with injections. My ED is psychological as well. All my plumbing is in great shape, so I’m a hyper responder too.

I found out early on that I’d need to be really careful with doses. Just a little too much would give me a blue steel towel rack for 6 hours. So I spent a good while searching the net for possible solutions. Stumbled on a few posts talking about how they inject nasal spray to bring down an erection that has gone past the 4 hour limit. So I figured I’d give it a try. Let me tell you, it works like a charm for me. It’s the nasal spray with Phenylephrine. I just fill up a syringe half full with the stuff, inject it just like the trimix, and 5 min later, erection gone. Doesn’t hurt, burn, or cause discomfort at all. Stuff has been a lifesaver for me 3 or 4 times, until I got the correct dosage down.

You had such an intense reaction to TriMix I would suggest you ask your urologist if you could try BiMix instead. It will likely give you a raging hardon that will work GREAT but have the added benefit of no aching from prostaglandins and you won’t need to worry about keeping it refrigerated. Added bonus as refrigeration is a pain with Trimix. Especially if you travel at all.

After trying everything else, we got to the injection stage. Over the course of 4 months, I was prescribed about every combination of mixes, starting with average dose down to absolute minimum. I had 2 erections that diminished on their own, was in the emergency room 4 times with 4-5 hour erections, and then, on a minimum dosage, I had an erection that felt like it was not going to go down, so I tried to relieve myself, hoping that would work. It did not. I woke up in the morning with my penis still in my hand, and by the time I made it to the ER, the erection was15 hours old. I am very grateful for strong drugs, as I do not remember much of that day or the next. Luckily, there was no permanent damage. and at that point we started considering an implant. I am now 4 days post op, no pain past day 1, and can't wait to try out y new and improved toy!
