Antidote (Phenylephrine HCL) Availability by State?

So, I talked to my urologist about injections. One of the things he told me was that he was required to have a heart monitor in his office to administer the 'antidote' to Trimix. For that reason, he won't administer the antidote in his office and if that were necessary, I'd need to go to the ER, but he'd just drain the blood from it instead in his office (been through that process and it's horrific).

The 'antidote' is the active ingredient in Sudafed PE to my understanding....Phenylephrine HCL.

My limited understanding from reading various medical practice websites specializing in men's sexual health from across the country is that most doctors will prescribe Phenylephrine HCL along with your ED injectable just in case you encounter a priapism.

Do certain states bar doctors from prescribing vasoconstrictors like Phenylephrine HCL? I'd really like to have some on hand should my first unsupervised injections take a turn for the worse (considering I've already ended up in the ER with my first low dose Trimix injection).

I just checked Google. "The active ingredient in Sudafed is pseudoephedrine, while the active ingredient in Sudafed PE is phenylephrine."

Get a box of the original Sudafed or go to Walmart and get their Wal-Phed D which is pseudoephedrine. Walmart brand is cheaper. It is a decongestant. Try the pills before running to the Emergency Room at the hospital.

Walmart keeps them behind the pharmacist's counter and requires I.D. to purchase. The ingredient is used in making meth. In the USA the government required they be moved behind the counter in a effort to cut the easy access to it by meth manufacturers. This drove the price up.

Appreciated (and I'll amend the original post with the Sudafed PE info)....but if you read my link...that's part of the "rescue kit". The injectable is obviously more directly acting....and that's what I'm asking about.

The injectable antidote I was provided was Phenylephrine. Used it twice while dialing in my proper dosage. Worked great. I found behind the counter Sudafed ineffective.

That sounds scary. I am really hoping to avoid another priapism. Guess there's some trial and error with injections. Are you on Trimix or something else?

I was scared first time it happened and the pro Sudafed was not working. Was trying to avoid an injection into an erection. Something a bid more traumatic than flaccid. But, it worked extremely effectively. I would consider it a must have if trying without a Dr’s office trial.

I'm doing an office visit where he'll show me how to inject...but he's planning to send me home. He does them early morning so if I have problems I can come back to have him drain it....but damn, I'd much rather inject Phenylephrine with a tiny needle than get drained again with a 14 gauge.
