Was Doing OK . . but . . Beta Blocker
Was Doing OK . . but . . Beta Blocker
I was doing OK with monomix and trimix, even getting my dose down (.25ml of 60mcg PGE) with various PT measures. But BP was creeping up and Dr Rx'd 10mg Lisinopril. Even at higher dose now, .45ml, dick has gone limp and is pretty useless. Is this normal for a Beta Blocker effect? Is anything else less problematic? Yikes! Appreciate your help.

Lisinopril actually is not a beta blocker but an angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor. In general they are less likely to cause ED issue than beta blockers but everyone is different. But I would think the local effect of the injection would be way stronger than the small effect a new medication on erections. I wonder if instead you are having a run of “misses” instead. Just a thought.

Re: Was Doing OK . . but . . Beta Blocker
A while back I did a deep dive into BP meds and ED. I found out that Losartan is the most "ED friendly" ie; less apt to cause or contribute to ED. And through Keto dieting and losing 40lbs, I was able to cut my dose of losartan in half. So, for me, a double win.
Lisinopril is known for something called the ''lisinopril cough". And lisinopril is also often prescribed in a combo pill as lisinopril/hctz. Hctz is a horrible ED-linked med, nothing will kill your dick faster than hctz.

64 years old. Had a heart attack with two stents placed at 46, atrial fibrillation surgery at 54 years. Doing great now, lost 45lbs on KETO, ED under control with tri-mix, 5mg daily Cialis, and arginine/citrulline 2x a day. And morning wood is back!

Stew, so what is your BP running at now that you're on lisinopril? It's also difficult to get it up if your BP is too low. Perhaps talk to your doctor about replacing some of the lisinopril with sildenafil (Viagra). It does reduce BP. I have no idea if any doctor has tried that and I sure as hell have no medical credentials.
Good luck.
Good luck.

Re: Was Doing OK . . but . . Beta Blocker
Thanks all. It's usually been in an acceptable high range of 135/75, plus if agitated, when I periodically check it, but for some unknown reason I was not feeling right and it was in the 150/80-180/90 range on occasion. I note in my BP journal it did this last winter too. I started taking some leftover Atenolol, which ran low and the, and the GP changed it up to 10mg Lisinopril which made me fatigued at first. I do 2-3 x 1/2 now through the day. WIth the BP meds, it's back to the 125-140/75 range.
I think 3 spray sinus/allergy meds (not Sudafed) on high doses were driving it up (seems to be an upper), and perhaps cutting way back on a PT 5mg dose of Cialis*. I've cut back on the allergy meds. I see a cardio in early Jan. SO I'd like to be armed with what works best for limp dicks. At nearly 2x the TriMix dose(30-2-60), it's not working well now, and things were in an OK groove. I do not want to go bionic. Sounds like Losartan might be the thing.
* I posted a question elsewhere a while back but the daily 5mg dose of Cialis was causing bad leg and lower back pains - myalgia - eIther directly or by inflaming my lower back nerve issues.

Three times ago I had a misfire but not the last 2 times. I can feel the two punctures - on through the tunica and one into the cavernosa. I did get a load of crap 1/2" x 30ga needles free from the compounding lab that will not puncture, they depress the skin and many have bent. Back to BD. But after 4 1/2 years of injections, it does seem the tunica and cavernosal walls have gotten tougher. And I do mix the locations up insofar as possible considering the now bigger veins. May go to 29 ga.
