I’ve been using trimix injection therapy for several years. I was diagnosed recently with prostate cancer and will have surgery to remove my prostate. Does injection therapy work after a prostatectomy?

Yes, but you will be much happier with an implant.

Most of the guys I have talked to who had an RP (yes, my prostate was removed in 2018 and I use trimix), as well as the research I've done, were not on trimix before the procedure. In these cases, the quality of erections after RP was a function of pre-surgery ED/EF. I would think your situation will have a similar outcome. The trimix will work, yet you may need a bigger dose or a stronger formula.

Hopefully there's a few guys on this forum who can comment on their first-hand experiences with a similar scenario to you.

Good luck with the surgery, if you have specific questions relating to anything/everything related to the procedure feel free to private message me.

Immediately after surgery you may find that nothing works well. However, given a little time it should work just fine.

Good luck with your surgery.

I was on injection(edex) therapy before and after RP, first injection after surgery was extremely painful, but 3 or 4 injections later I was ok. Use small dose first and you'll be ok. I've decided to go IPP "this week" injections became hit and miss, more pain than pleasure.

Short answer- yes. My RPP was in Jan 2020 and I use trimix ~2x/wk now when I'm lucky.

Long answer- TBD on when you and your dr. say you're ready to start injecting again. I recommend you start pelvic floor therapy now to prepare for the surgery. And immediately afterwards. Then get the incontinence under control for leaks and accidents.

Also expect a long and frustrating recovery for getting the nerves to fire again. I'm still waiting...
