Testostersone

I was diagnosed with Low T by my endocrinologist. She prescribed the under arm rub on testostersone replacement theraphy. I used it for about 2 years. The cost is prohibitive($1,700 per bottle). Even with insurance over $200 per bottle and a bottle last about 4 weeks. Because my insurance would only pay for a month at a time and it is controlled substance, I ran into trouble getting my prescription refilled when out of state on an extended vacation. I switched to having my urologist do the Testapel pellets. Each implant lasted 3 to 4 months. Then Covid struck and Testapels became un available. My insurance would not pay for the generic testostrsone pellets and that cost me $500, out of pocket every 3 months. My testostrsone levels were not exactly consistent, high on the front end and low on the backend. My urologist decided to quit doing Testapel theraphy because he said some insurances would not pay on a consistent basis. I have gone to self injection and started out with 1ml biweekly. After a month I had my levels checked and I was at 1224. Much higher than the 350-450 recomended level. I have dropped back to .25ML weekly and will go back and have it checked in a month. For those who are on this theraphy I woud be interested in finding out what time/dosage you have settled with and what levels ytou are maintaining.

Wtf? That’s way too expensive. I inject testosterone and it is $5 to $20 per month plus $3 of needles. Injecting is the cheapest, most effective solution. Ask your dr about injecting.

Hi Forever, what testosterone product are you injecting and what strength? The most common is testosterone cypionate, it's usually 200mg/ml. I have been injecting for years, and for the last 7 or 8 years doing sub Q shots into my belly fat M-W-F with a 30ga 1/2 syringe (Easy Touch brand). It keeps my levels very steady and between 600- and 800 at testing. Those are typical of a much younger man. At each M-W-F I inject 0.2ml, so over a week that would add up to 0.6ml of the 200mg/ml T-cyp.

I find that T gel from a compounding pharmacy is the easiest and cheapest. They buy the ingredients by the barrel and put it in a little plastic dispenser which pumps out the amount the doctor wants. It's portable and very convenient for travel. After my evening shower, I smear one pump worth on about 50 square inches of skin and let it dry for ten minutes. Not covered by my insurance but only $30 for six weeks' worth.

I take one injection weekly of 100mg. Been doing this for years. I go to a uro who is a Low T specialist on the 20th of this month to have the scrutinize my doseage and get me on the best possible dosage to give me the most help. I was told they now have nasal spray low t replacement that is better then weekly injections. Was told it gives you a better my stable replacement of the hormone in your system. I like the feeling I get the first days after my shot..as the med fades it loses its special "randy" feeling it gives to me
