Injections stop working after only 4 months?!

I’ve been having very good results over 4 months using either
20mcg Viridal (alprostadil) used 12.5-15mcg
25mcg Aviptadil/ 2mg phentoamine (Invicorp) in 0.35ml - I’d use 0.25ml

In fact it was only 6 weeks ago I injected all 0.35ml of Invicorp and it lasted 4.5 hours even with 45 min run to try and get it back down again. I was really worried at that point.

I noticed the last time I used 12.5 mcg of alprostadil that not a lot happened so thought maybe a dud.
Finally I met someone awesome this weekend, used 17.5mcg of alprostadil and perhaps 85pc for about 5-10 mins. So after 4 hrs we gave it another go and I threw caution into the wind and injected another Viridal and all 20mcg. I got 100pc for 5 mins then 50pc semi for an hour.

A few months ago this would have been enough to drill the walls for 3-4 hrs

So last night on my own I used 0.25ml of Invicorp. I got 90-95pc (took longer to get there) and only for 45min - 1hr. Again just a few weeks ago this would of been 3 hrs minimum.

Q - have other men seen this kind of drop off in efficacy from starting injection to it stop working?

I’ ve read on her guys talking about this but it always sounded like years not a few months.
I’ve probably only injected 10-15x alprostadil and 15-20 Invicorp

Trimix worked for me for about 3 years. When it began to fail I was switched to Quadmix. I got maybe 6 months and it began to fail. My guess is venous leak got worse and worse. If the drugs get old they lose effectiveness. Some of these drugs are supposed to be kept refrigerated or they lose potency.
Best advice is see a good urologist who can either offer a better option or diagnose the issue.

This is my first thought.

Biker,

You don’t give any personal background, like age, physical condition, diabetic, smoker, drug user, etc.. There are many things that contribute to ED and lifestyle can be a biggie. I suggest you go to your profile page and create a signature stating your statistics. It make its so much easier to identify with you, and help you. Just the fact that drugs are not working only tells part of the story, we need more info in order to help you.

Yes. It's happened to me. When I first started injections, I used 20 units of Trimix 30-1-10 and I was rock for about an hour and a half. About four to five months later 20 units wasn't getting me hard enough to penetrate. I had to increase to 25 units. For the past two years I've been constantly increasing the prescription and dosage in order to get an erection hard enough to penetrate. Now 40 units of 30-3-40 is barely getting the job done. I have no interest in Quadmix and I'm sick and tired of injections. Time for an implant.

Biker if you need to talk to someone in person. PM me.

I started Trimix in May 2022 using 15 units. Then went up to 20 units.

Now six months later I'm finding I need to cut back the number of units in order to prevent Priapism.

Thanks for the replies.

I’m 48yrs old and Had ED all my life even when a teenager.
I’m quite slim. I run and cycle so I do look after myself where possible

The only other aspect I can think of is that I’ve had covid about 2.5 weeks ago which is also when the efficacy drop off of these meds made themselves known. It did knock me about a bit but I’m nearly right now.

Over the weekend I used full dose of Invicorp 2 days in a row. Previously this would of been 4-5 hrs And being terrified of priapism. It did 2 hrs which was fine (great) but I’m astounded how quickly the effects are dropping off. They were stable results until 2-3 wks ago.

Give it some time, When I was sick three years ago with Covid like symptoms it took me over six weeks to get over most of the symptoms.

The injections caused some injury to your penis that causes veno-occlusive dysfunction. Stop injections right away and give it a long break. If you are lucky, it is still in time for the penile tissue to heal.

Exactly this happened to me about 2 years ago.

Overnight, I went from being able to get 3-4 hours to not even getting 5 minutes.

It never got better because I kept trying to make injecting work and causing further injury.

Just my two cents, but i started injecting in February. I have kept all the vials in the freezer, taking one out long enough to thaw to draw the needed amount and then right back to the freezer. Its now November and it’s still working at the same amount. I went up a few units when I thought it had lost efficacy but it had to be because of not hitting the right spot. I adjusted my area and the higher amount was too much and am now back to the original amount. Keeping the meds frozen and injecting techniques do play a part. It’s a gamble sometimes but I keep at it.
