Question about edex

Hello all. I have a question about injecting edex. I have been using trimix and injecting 25 to 40 units in order to obtain a good erection for sex. I am now getting edex through the VA. It comes in a 40mcg vial that has to be mixed in the vial and then injected.
My uro has instructed me to inject the entire 40mcg into my penis. 40mcg is the same as 1ml.

Can someone who has been using edex please tell me if it is OK to inject the entire 40mcg at once?

I sure wouldn't do the whole cartridge on the first try. Are you still using the 10/1/30? You may need the whole cartridge but you don't know that yet. I'd start off a bit more conservatively. Maybe 1/3 of the cartridge (33 units). You can just mix the cartridge and only inject 1/3 or whatever and per instructions toss the rest. Then you'll have a better idea next time.

My brother also gets the Edex 40s from the VA. I showed him how to do 1/3 of the cartridge, saving the rest. He mixes it in the cartridge per instructions and then removes the cartridge needle. He then uses the insulin syringes (I think his are 1/2 cc, 1/2" by 30 gauge insulin syringes) and pokes them through the Edex rubber where he removed the Edex needle and draws out 3 doses in three of his insulin syringes. He uses one and freezes the other two. That amount is enough for him. He had no prior experience with dick injections. He asked me for help before using the Edex as he didn't get much info from the VA. When I told him the whole Edex 40 cartridge was probably too much he told his VA doctor what I'd told him. His doctor told him "Yeah, it probably is". That information should have been shared up front, but whatever. He's now good with 1/3 cartridge per.

Bear in mind that what I described above is very contrary to the Edex instructions and I suspect are contrary to all medical advice. So don't do it. I'm in no way qualified to give medical advice. I'm just a bubba typing on the internet. Always ask your doctor and follow his/her advice.

I tried Edex before I went on Trimix.
I did inject all of it.
It's not as strong as Trimix, so you need to inject all of it.
Edex did make my penis ache so my uro put me on Trimix

Bad advice IMHO. Without doing the math a whole Edex 40 will contain over 8 times as much alprostadil as what he currently is taking in his tri-mix dose. Granted, there's two other ingredients in the tri-mix but there's just too many unknowns as to what his reaction will be. He may need the whole cartridge, but maybe not. A fair chance not!
