Scar Tissue?

I'm getting an implant in November but still want to inject. Finding it difficult for the needle to penetrate. It's worked before but feels like I'm hitting a wall, causing the needle to bend or not inject into the muscle. I always inject on my right side in generally the same area. Any advice or suggestions?

I have the same issue at times. I had scar tissue at the base of my penis where I was instructed to inject. I now inject one inch down from the glan. In my case there is much less scar tissue near the penis head. I inject at 3 o'clock to stay away from the scar tissue toward the top of my penis. I do not use an autoinject because with scar tissue present the autoinject is dangerous and injects just under the skin because the needle bends.

You should vary the location and alternate sides.

If you inject at the same spot you likely have scar tissue.

Another thing I found, I used to fill my syringe put the (orange) cap back on (over the needle), then I go to the bathroom removed the cap, and inject.
Putting the cap back on and taking it off, in some cases blunted the needle, making it difficult and likely injuring the penile tissue as I inject.

Once I take the cap off the needle and fill the syringe, the needle is left untouched until I inject.
Only after I'm finished injecting the cap goes back on and into the sharps container.
