Unless of course you're using Bi or Tri-Mix. Which of the two alprostadil drugs would you say is the safest overall? I suffer from psychogenic ed and of course caverject has the advantage of being titrated to very small doses, however, I think it increases the chance of fibrosis and worse further down the line. On the other hand then there's the MUSE drug which is injected as a suppositry and therefore limits trauma to the penile tissue/shaft etc but it is not titrated any lower than its lowest dose which is 125mcg. I'm guessing the fact MUSE isn't injected directly into the penis means the higher concentration of the drug is necessary for absorption but I don't know. Anyone have any professional knowledge here?

I used MUSE for about 6 months several years back, before switching to TRIMIX injection. MUSE wasn't for me....hard to insert correctly in the urethra and once placed, produced a localized burning sensation and unatural feel to the mild erection produced. This was my own experience, and others may have more or less favorable experience. Patient satisfaction with MUSE is generally lower than injection therapy. I'm now on Caverject having recently switched from TRIMIX, only because of the storage and shelf life hassle with TRIMIX.

Unless you plan on frequently injecting Caverject, I wouldn't worry about fibrosis. Suggest you speak with your doc about your concerns and his take on the subject. Good luck!

Is Psychogenic ED a mild variety? Meaning you need some but not a lot of help?

I use Trimix for all my erection-intercourse needs, but use MUSE (alprostadil) for tweener nightly rehabbing.
You can see some of my other posts where I describe dissolving 1000mcg MUSE and then using fractions of that 1000 to get some pretty good erections (but sometimes only chubbies). If you just need a boost, then that method might work pretty well. The main thing with MUSE is the ridiculous retail cost per stick - $50. But if you can get away with, say, 250mcg of 1000cm stick to help with your erection then the cost (retail) is reduced by 1/4 -- not too bad and of course 4X the number of splooshes. If you get a good co-pay deal (like me -- $100 for 18 sticks) it is a good price even for a full stick, but you only get 6 sticks per month so dividing into 3s or 4s or even 5s will fill out your month a lot better.

Would be nice to get PGE-1 (Alprostadil) from other sources where you could get more for your $$$ but even if you did it does cost around $1000 per gram on the open market -- but geezus that is 1000 x 1000mcg !!! I have looked into it but have not tried to order any (from Chinese sources etc ) yet.
