Switching from Trimix 5 to 14
Switching from Trimix 5 to 14
Talked with urologist today. I’ve been on trimix 5 for a few months titration down from 15 to 11 units erections lasting until the four hour said he wants to swap me to the # 14 trimix at 10 units and go up to 20 if not effective instead of decreasing on the trimix 5. Anyone experience a move from trimix 5 to 14? thought I had the 5 trimix just about dialed in by going down a unit or 2. Thanks

What are the ratios of the three ingredients in 5 and 14?

Re: Switching from Trimix 5 to 14
Thanks for listing the component doses. “Trimix 5” and “Trimix 14” are not universally used terms. The component doses (per milliliter of solution) is clear and makes comparing mixes apples to apples.
I’ve used injections for around 10 years and my mix changed numerous times as my ED got worse. In general I tried to have a mix was concentrated enough that the volume of injection that worked well was between 10-20 units. That is a volume that is easy to draw up accurately.
More concentrated than that and small errors in the drawn up volume are big errors in dose. A lot less concentrated than that and it’s just wasting money.
My compounding pharmacy charged the same price for a 10ml vial of medication regardless of the Trimix mix in it. So if I had a mix that worked at 10units and another mix worked at 100units I got 10 times as many hard-ons for the same cost with the more concentrated mix.
Seems like your doc is trying to get you to a mix that works well in that 10-20unit range. That seems like sound advice.
If you still have a bunch of your current mix left I (personally) would continue to use that mix just being VERY careful to draw up the correct smaller volume for the injections. I’m not a fan of wasting money throwing out a vial of Trimix. But my next vial ordered would be the new prescription.

Great thank you very much for the info. I’ll use up my current stuff try a couple units down and start working on dialing in the new stuff.
