Shelf life of Tri Mix How long does this stuff last?

Hello to all
I am using both the pump and Tri Mix. Testing the Tri Mix over time has resulted in the appropriate dose as 2.5 to 3 units (2.5 to 3 drops). This produces a rock hard erection in about 9 minutes. This erection will last for well beyond 3 hours unless sudafed is used.
I am finding posts stating that Tri Mix will keep in the refrigerator for months and still work. My Tri Mix comes from a major HMO and is prepared for them by a compounding pharmacy. The bottle states that the prescription should be discarded 28 days after first use.
Because of this I am throwing most of it away. $$$$$$$$$$
Can anyone here help me clear this up?
Bill

Wow !!! someone is trying to sell you extra trimix....90 days seems to be typical but it has been documented several times on this forum that it can last much longer....it either works or it does not....just keep using it until there is no action anymore...
Cheers,
Curt

I think 28 days is some kind of standard official use by time span for any compunding that contains bacteriastatic water as a base.
But I think 90 days is more like it ... and much more if you freeze it.
Damn that's pretty nice having to use only 2 or 3 units .. but I suppose 3+ hour erections would get kind of old and a nuisance after a while.
I might suggest at some point maybe your doc could prescribe plain PGE-1 solution instead of Trimix. ( if you can tolerate a alprostadil ache that you might get).
I am using that lately and it seems to wear off quicker than Trimix -- even at much higher PGE-1 amount per ml. Something to do with PGE-1 being a 'natural' compound that the body knows how to neutralize where Papaverine and Phentolamine are artifical substances not normally made or found in the body so they last longer before being flushed out or neutralized.

What I have leaned is that trimix wix will last 6 months frozen and 2 months after thawing.

I did not realize Trimix needed to be refrigerated when I first started injecting. Accordingly, I stored my first vial at room temperature and found it was still effective after 4 months, though I had to increase the dosage by about 30 % towards the end to achieve the same results as the first injection.

See my post (7 Back) on the long term stability of Trimix, Bimix and Caverject. This was a proper trial by a major university. Two of the 3 constituents of Trimix are stable at room temperature - this is, no doubt, why Trimix still works if not refrigerated for long periods. At the 4 month mark at room temperature you will effectively have Bimix - the Alprostadil/PGE-1 will have degraded. The key to long term storage is to be scrupulous over sterility and refrigerate or freeze.

First timer (61 year old me) is at the 8 month point of my (always frozen) Trimix, and it's still very effective. Of course I'm adding 50 mg of Viagra to my 50 units (as my urologist's dosages are far from those I've heard discussed in this forum), but I'm averaging 2 to 3 hr. erections, and that's on top of an 11 year old, moderate spinal cord injury, which robbed me of 40% of everything below the waist, so I couldn't be happier about these results.
Related, I'd just read a story of two researchers (toxicologist/pharmacologist) who stumbled upon 14 medications dating back to the 60's. Twelve of fourteen had zero degradation (exact same benefit nearly 50 years later), and the other two were still 80+ effective. Doing the math, they found nearly 800 billion in medications were disposed of every year, due to ridiculously short expiration dates recommended (of course) by the pharmaceutical manufacturers. So don't go tossing your allegedly *expired* Viagra out. That, or send them my way! Lol

My Trimix is 6 months old, constantly dozen only take it out to fill syringes. Did not notice any change in potency. I'll throw it out around one your or if notice inefectiveness. I use 3-4 units and mix it with 2-3 units (6 units total) of antibacterial water to add a little volume.
All the best!
