Pre filling syringes

For anyone who might prefill syringes for use later. When you go to use the prefilled do you wipe the needle with the sterile pad first or do you think it would be ok? My uro mentioned pre-filling syringes when he was showing me how to load one but didn't say anything about wiping the needle. My thinking is that as long as I wipe the top of the vile and replace the cap right away it should be ok. Reason I ask is my wife saw me use a pre-filled syringe as asked about it.

Sman,
I prefill 5 or 10 syringes. When I use them I only wipe the skin with the alcohol wipe.
I suppose wiping the actual syringe needle might be useful.
But might add a little extra sting when it goes in due to the alcohol on the needle??
Not sure.

Just going by common sense here, I would not wipe the needle. As long as it doesn't touch anything besides the vial, and you put the cap back on immediately, it should still be sterile.
Heh, I dropped a loaded syringe on the floor a while back, thought about cleaning the needle, then realized it wasn't worth the risk so I just threw it out.

When I was injecting insulin manually in my love handles, I would reuse the disposable syringe at least five time without an issue. I did this over a 15 year period. I believe the cap maintains a good sterile environment. I would not recommend reusing a syringe on you penis, but I do feel you are safe prefilling, capping, refrigerating, and injecting without using an alchohol swab on the needle.

I'm not sure how this would work withTriMix but my brother in law who is diabetic has carries his insulin on planes frequently. I think he told me once that he also carries a script or some kind of note from his Dr.
