My doctor prescribed Prostaglandin E, 20 mcg/ml which has to be compounded (mixed) at a local pharmacy. The first prescription I got was at a pharmacy near the Doc's office so he could show me how to inject. Then I got another prescription at a pharmacy closer to home. The local guy told me that it would last a lot longer if I froze it. He gave me two vials and I filled the first into syringes and froze them along with the second vial. After doing this, I noticed on the first prescription that it said to refrigerate, but do not freeze. I haven't tried any of the frozen yet, but will in a few days.
Do any of you guys have any thoughts on this or not? Also, I am not sure this is what you call trimix or bimix.
Let me know if you have a comment.

Re: Freezing Prostaglandin E
Hi,
I just started the same regimen as you and was told to freeze one vial and fridge the other. Freezer will be good 6 months and fridge says use in 14 days but will last much longer.

Jollis,
A lot of guys here freeze loaded syringes so you can just grab em and go (go go!).
I think the only reason for the no freeze caution with the vial itself would be that it might crack the vial. But those suckers are pretty strong glass -- plus the vial is never very full so there's usually plenty of room for ice expansion. Just my take.
